Let Battle Commence

Well when ATI get physics sorted out on openCL.
Personally i dont ever see a reason to ever buy a nivida card again. Unless they somehow manage to bring out a card thats 200% performance.

IMO thats one of ATI's biggest downfalls at the minute, so looks like i should hold off buying the gtx 285 for now, hope these new ones from nvidia come soon

This situation is strangely similar to the 8800 launch back in 2006, wonder if the cards will be as amazing.

At least someone posted an article that made some sense as well.

EDIT

Also

Senior manager from Nvidia has told Fudzilla that “Our (Nvidia’s) 40nm yields are fine. The rumors you are hearing are baseless.”

It's gonna be fast but won't offer vfm. Ati will lower prices to further hurt nv and then we have hemlock on our side yet, bring it on Jen

but then Nvidia will relese the 375x2 (or 395)

At the end of the day it's great that ATI are forcing the prices down so that people who want nvidia aren't being ripped off as much

PhysX is ATI's downfall? LOL, because PhysX is used extensively.

These cards will probably be fast but will also cost a hell of a lot.

well to be honest they not going to say they crap are they?,i do think it is damage control but i might be wrong.
If ati are having trouble with 5*** then it makes sense nvidia are as well with a larger chip and a new design.

Shortage is down to selling a tanker full to Dell it's due to pick up in only a week, ocuk for example are getting 270 units of the sapphires on monday and i know other retailers are due to recieve a boat load also it will pick up way before gt300launch lol

Good to hear nvidia might have their new gfx by the end of the year, otherwise would be a big disaster for the company and the market: competition is always good for the consumer!. I hope they can also market them at a competitive price and make a profit from them.

i can't believe that Nvidia domination of the market for the last 3 years (things started to change with the 4870 & 4850) is coming to an end from a company which is struggling to survive!
