also im looking to get one on 2000, 2001 plate. what millage would be decent for the car?

thanks

Check for water damage in the footwells and the door cards. The door carrier seals are pretty naff and there a many reports of water running into the footwells in heavy rain (especially if the car is parked on steep camber). My dad got a fabia a few months ago and we've had the problem, it's fixable though (there's a pretty informative video on youtube showing how).

Compared to what? It stands up to Fiestas etc. with the same size engine.

Not it doesn't. The 1.4 16v Fabia has 75bhp and does 0-60 in 13.4 seconds. My Fiesta is also a 1.4, has 89bhp and does 0-60 in 10.8. That's nearly 3 seconds difference :/

Ford must be the only manufacturer who's power outputs get lower, because a 2002 mk6 1.4 will be putting out just 78bhp.

Also, the last 1.4 16v Fabia I drove had 100bhp. ;)

To meet Euro III emissions standards. The tune of 1.4 I have is a dirty bugger :p

I believe most, if not all Fabias of this age will have 75bhp.

Tip: Don't ask here. Go to Briskoda.Net and ask them there.

Whilst I don't think the Fabia is a bad car (I drive a TDI version), I would take a Fiesta instead, probably the 1.6.

Having said that, if you can get one at the right price, it's a good car.
