Was looking for a used iphone and came across what seems to be some nigerian english, he's bought 10 or so items at around 99p to get his 100% feedback.

How do I go about warning ebay or the bidders before they get sucked in? And on that note what sucker would pay for something that looks this dodgy?

" I greet and invite to auction this splendid iphone. The display is in the good state (several very small not visible scratches under the time of the use) the back casing is very scratched, but one can put on the case or this to cover anything. iphone looks on very used generally but only from the back. Additional programmes and games are installed in iphone. Is open on all sim cards (O2, T-mobile, Orange...). Is in 100% efficient (software, tactile screen, sounds, loudspeaker built-in) Is all works skilfully. I do not possess charger, box, any accessories, only iphone to selling. The payment only PayPal. Thanks and invite to the auction."

he's bought other items for over 5 pound, on his page it seems he is from essex.

he's a scammer just because he has bad english?

Don't really see the issue here?

Probably is stolen, but there is no way of telling so it doesn't matter. It doesn't look like a scam to me.

There is also an ipod for sale, that has the same broken english. Could be a hijacked account, as all the other listings seem ok.

Simply because he doesn't speak English very well - but he does speak it, why would that mean it's a scam? Am I missing something?

I have no idea if it's a scam or not, but the broken english reaks of online translator and would certainly put me off.

It's made me want to check 419eater, havent been on there for years ! *Goes to look for the telephone recording with the Schwarzaneggar soundboard*

It doesn't seem that bad?

Surely you're covered as it's Paypal? The Nigerians usually demand Western Union.

You would think so wouldnt you but I lost over £300 on a Camera scam and Paypal agreed he was at fault but as they couldnt contact him and there were no funds in his account they didnt want to know.

It's a 3G, not a 3G S as advertised (if you look in the Q/A section). Tbh he may well not be a scammer.

But if he can't speak with decent english or at least take the time to write properly he's going to be a nightmare to deal with if any complications arise.

Steer clear. I'd always buy something like this from new. If you can't afford it wait until you can. If you can afford to be ripped off or severly disappointed by all means go ahead :)
