Sky TV on Xbox

Oh no, not £30 A YEAR.
Just so I can watch football every couple of weeks? Nah.
I was considering it because it'd be more convenient than firing up my pc and logging onto sky player, which I was willing to do for a one off cost, but adding a £30 per year charge on top or that makes it a non starter.
I don't quite see why a gold sub should be needed tbh, unless they're using their own servers instead of sky's?

Hmmm, we have sky in the house, so can use that, and as for the viewing, is it full screen with similar controls as the sky box (as in the menu) or is it just a window like in the pic from a party watching footie...

Will have to either see a demo on this or I won't even think about buying it. Just far to unclear on details as it stands.

hmm so as i understand it, i have sky with multi room and the sport channels, so i can watch sky sports with no extra cost because im already a subcribe to sky?

So basically, this is completely useless if you dont already have sky because for the same cost you might as well have a sky box.

Yes, all you're saving is the cost of a dish and installation but that is free as each region goes through digital switchover due to a special offer from Sky!

I can only presume that the amount of money they might make by providing sports, etc without a subscription is not great enough to outweigh the possible loss of revenue from reduced subscriptions. A shame, because I'd gladly sign up for a Sky Sports sub on my xbox, but I'm not paying for all the other channels.

This will be great, I have multiroom HD in my room as it is, but my bro can use it on his xbox now and watch sky in his room.

Can't wait for this, use it all the time at the minute and it's fantastic.

Being able to use it through the Xbox is even better :D

I thought by the sound of it you dont get full access to Sky only 22 channels of live TV, 6 of which are Sports/movie channels that you have to pay extra for. The pay on demand stuff looks good but i dont know the price of say an episode or a series, but as i get them for free for VM it doesnt interest me. Would rather it be a full Sky service with viewing on demand or live, bit like BT vision or Tiscalli, but if you have neither VM or able to have a sky dish it seems a pretty reasonable solution.
