Micro Pigs

/\ On the news earlier some 'expert' was saying that they dont need to be taken for walks.

: / Because being stuck inside a house is going to be massively entertaining for an animal that's smarter than a dog isn't it?

That "expert" need s a punch in the face, in my expert opinion. :D

I could imagine having a pig as a pet, they are very intelligent animals and certainly would be just as "loving" as any cat or dog would be.

How socially acceptable it would be is the real sticker. Plus the fact that once the local chavs found out about it, im sure they would be upto mischief simply as its something out of the ordinary to amuse thier pea brains with.

I (or rather, she) never said they should be stuck in a house. Walking them is not the same as keeping them inside is it? Would you 'walk' a full-size pig? Nope. So why would these be any different?

You don't feel an attachment to the bacon on your plate though. I know I could quite happily have a pet piggy, and still happily share my bacon buttie with it.

Yep, you're right, it's just I think I would take a while to adapt; it's silly I know. Are they quite low maintenance, as in they don't pester you all the time like some dogs can? it's just that I'm a bit of a lazy git sometimes. To be honest, I wouldn't care if it's socially unacceptable or what people think. That's their problem, though the cost might be an issue.

It would be a scene like out of exorcist, except with a pig on the ceiling trying to kill you..

Oh.. wait..

SPIDER PIG! I wonder how they'd react to a bit of ceiling walking?

Been to peoples house's who have pigs, very cute even when very large, but they have always been kept outside. Something smaller i think would make a great pet

It would feel a bit strange as I would have a pet pig whilst knowing that I eat other pigs. Quite similar to owning a cat but knowing that I eat other cats. Can you train them to use a litter tray? Do they need to be outside a lot? Do they need to be taken for walks?

You know if you read the article you might know some of those answers...

These could be quite a handy addition to the home as they would fit in my big saucepan & between a French stick.

Seriously though they are about as Gorgeous as anything I've ever seen but the Bleeting would do my Nut in.

then there's the final size! Cats/Dogs - yes, pig no.

it's grows to be smaller than the average dog :/
