To be honest, good on him for giving him a punch, but there's a difference between defending yourself and intending to go out to give someone a thorough hiding.

but when he said it it;s hard to tell if he meant he'd hit him expecting a fight and thus repeated blows or if he;d act like he did in the video once the scrote has gone down, and crawled away would he repeatedly attack him on the floor?

I'll willing to bet he wouldn't have kept beating on him after one punch put hiom down and made him crawl off.

There's a link further up to his you tube profile. One of his comments is that he went out to give the guy a beating and only stopped when he seen people were filming it. Given that he's a black belt and the comment about the cameras, it's pretty obvious he was going to do more than just what would be considered reasonable self defence.

he said "kick the **** out of him ", a beating implies deliberate repeated blows after the other guys is defenceless and down.

kicking the **** out of someone is just a colloquialism, and many people would refer to the guy in the video kick or beating the **** out of the guy with that one punch.

odds are once the guy was down and crawling away he would have stopped because he'd know he'd get in trouble and the other guy was just pathetic.

But seriously if someone was kicking your door in while your wife and baby where inside you wouldn't be answering the door with full intent to commit violence?

You neglect to mention that he was going to give him a beating AFTER the arse kicked his door in. Strange how people leave out stuff like that and only grab the bit of the comment that suits their point of view.
