Right guys need an opinion on a new mmo. Been away from MMOs for around 6 months and just have the urge to play one again ^^. But pls any recomendations other then wow. Its a great game but ive done that game to death. Also im more of a PVE guy then a PVP :) any recommendations ? Thanks

If you want something similar to WoW but a bit more PVP based then Aion is the game for you.

If you are a true hardcore bad ass mofo and like to grind to become uber then PVP, if you win you conquer the galaxy, if you lose you have wasted years of your life then eve is for you.

I play and love both. can't really comment on PVE, I am not a homosexual.

Tried eve before bit too much for me tbh, some of the stats are just silly lol. Ive heard tht LOTR sucked ? I have never seen it played tho :P

Many people say LOTR sucks but they are probably people like me that are more into PVP. the graphics are quite nice as is the LOTR setting and apparently the PVE is very good.

But still apparently you can't beat WoW for raiding still.

Raiding just does my head in now, i know this might sound strange but i want an mmo with a little bit more casual approach then wow :P

When did last play wow?

Wow is tailored nearly 100% to causual,

I play hardcore wow raiding, i'm finding it crap. Its a game for the casuals now.

Around 4 to 6 months ago, was looking for a change tho. Something like Myth of soma or Mir :) those days are long gone. :(

+1 for LOTRO

It's worth a try at least mate and the PVE on it is great for the casual player.
Think there's a few OC'ers on there too.

Lotro is the best mmo for PvE content by a mile, but it lacks in pvmp as it has become quite stale.

With the pending Siege of Mirkwood expac coming in 8 weeks i'd advise you to purchase and start levelling ASAP.

dear god... MoS is the worst game ever imho :P

but runescape? hear thats all about grinding... should be like mos.

hahahah ^^ it was a great game ! :) i havent really seen much of LOTRO ill check it out now. Any thoughts on EQ2 ?

Ive never played lotro because i like pvp so i played war instead (which i strongly suggest against as its terrible). But lotro does look highly polished and i know countless PVE players who say the story for a mmo is unbeaterble. TOR may be the one to get though when that comes out, who knows?

LOL
Something "More Casual than WOW".
I honestly can say there is nothing out there more casual.
If you wanted to make a more casual game it would involve:

Question "Do you wish to max your stats"
Yes
Question "Do you want all of the best equipment"
Yes

Welcome - please sit back and the computer will now play the game for you.

By casual i mean a game which is not dependant solely on raiding. a game where you can log on and enjoy the game when you want too. Not when some loser of a GM wants you on thus taking 4 of your 7 nights a week away from you ^^.

Made me chuckle when I read an interview with one of WoW's top guilds on how easy the game become, when in the next question he was asked why they haven't killed Yogg Saron - Zero Keepers yet, oh, because it's too hard, it's impossible. For the everyday average raider pretending he is hardcore or good at the game, it's perfect finely tuned. For the really good players they will find 95% of all raiding content a joke, and then ignore the other 5% screaming it's too hard or 'mathematically' impossible. WoW had it's glory years with TBC where it wasn't as damn freaking hard as vanilla or as easy as Wotlk. There will never be another era like it so for all practical purposes, the game is 'over' for me and I'm casual as well now.

To answer OP question. Most certainly try Aion or Lotro. Just don't expect another WoW because that game is a once in a lifetime thing.
