Thanks dude. It's all taken a twist tonight with some product shots now that I have wireless triggers for both my flashes. I just spent about two hours playing with backdrops, props, softboxes, gridspots, gels, all kinds of things. I always have fun doing this kind of thing! Tonight has made me realise how much control one has over light when using off camera flash, and how placement, power and diffusers completely change the same scene to make completely different photographs. I love it!!

I know that the camera doesn't make the photographer but I have to say from your daily pics I've noticed a massive leap in quality from say the latter photographs of Helen taken with your 400D to the ones taken your new toy. Not that I'm saying the images from the 400D were bad, far from it. Just the quality is so much better. :)

Makes me want to upgrade but possibly not to the 5D just yet.

I KNOW!!!!!

I noticed the same with i started processing my pics now, it is just something else with better sensor (FF) with better glass. I've started a thread on TP on it but 99% of the people don't get what i am saying it.

^^^ the second one down by far looks the best in my eyes :) nice work mate !

Thanks dude :)

Incredible isn't it? :)

I remember when I first got a flash and couldn't believe the difference in the shots. Then I started playing with off camera flash, the possibilities are endless with it :) - Definitely the way forward :D

I have been playing with off camera flash for a fair few months now, but only with a single strobe. With many of the shots of Helen there were dark areas to one side, which I could have fixed with a reflector but I didn't have the means to keeping one in place. Now I have a second flash and aother lightstand I'm really excited about my next portrait shots.

Even on these product shots I was having great fun. I had the softbox in place and then the other flash gridded in my hand, just moving it about different places and shooting away. It was great fun :)

Absolutely loving the Day 9 clock flower photo, SS. I know the camera doesn't make the photographer but you seem to have bonded really well with the 5D :)
