Naked airport scanner

It leaves the possibility of staff abusing their position?

In what way? I doubt it to be honest. They wont be able to get the images off the machines so what exactly are they going to do?

Pointless paranoia.

Shall we ban strip searches for drug suspects as well? Staff could do even more abuse there. Lets also ban nurses.

He was implying that he supports them, I asked why they are necessary at all if its "no big deal". Surely its no big deal to keep the existing arrangements?

Security is a big deal. An unknown person in a room staring at a computer screen is not a big deal.

It feels like that film with stallone in it, demolition man? Where nobody has bodily contact in the future. :p

Edit - going by your comment Fox

I could say the same thing about all these "security measures". Pointless paranoia. Are we all sheep that need to be tagged and herded while travelling?

Has everyone read the article before doing the normal Daily Mail thing of "Oh my god! The children! Outcry!"?

"The images are not erotic or pornographic and they cannot be stored or captured in any way," she said.

Passengers could refuse to be scanned, she added.

People can refuse to be scanned and the images can't be saved or printed off. I don't see an issue really! I'd just buy foil stickers saying "The legend is this way" with an arrow pointing down and watch the guy's face who is doing the scan :D

So when does thsi job become available....?:p

seriously i don't care. it's only some wierd blue electronic "naked" image anyway.

If it keeps us safe from harm whilst we travel, why not? We can't allow for us to have the lax security we have had in the past since 'terrorists' started attacking us.

If a terrorist was determined to kill people, they can blow up the check-in queue or suchlike. How far do you take this? Barriers at every airport road with scanners and armed police? The fear is not being generated by any terrorists that I can see, the government\media are the entities shouting loudly about it.

Why do you have such a problem with it?

I value privacy. That not good enough for you?

And then you notice as you go through the scanner that the new job your mother was on about was watching people go through this very machine
