You don't get a cold from being wet.
No but there is the possibility of hypothermia on a cold day. Plus if they're soaked they're going to miss school.

Is this the kind of pathetic PC society we live in where a few kids prising the badges off cars with a screwdriver causes such uproar?...

...
It was a one off (to the people on the recieving end) prank
bit like keying your car, it's a one off.

Oh the horror, strange kids if they don't like a day off...Plus if they're soaked they're going to miss school.
Love it, 5 starz
Keying = financial damage & vandalism
Getting wet isn't.
Unless the muddy water ruins the clothes and bags.

And 1 day worth of clothing costs hundreds to repair?
Come on, clothes ruined by muddy water? Put it in the washing machine and it'll be like new...
Take up a payed day off ? Or swap with someone? Don't know anyone who can take care of your kid ? Tbh I'm pretty conservative with this, imo 2 parents should not go work at the same time, one should always be available.Bit of a problem if the parents can't go to work because the kids are home and thus lose earnings or there was an exam.
100 quid? A new paint job costs what, 6 times as much or more ?My suit and coat for high school cost more than £100 and were in fact dry cleaning only.
Getting clothes wet is rarely ''ruining them''.Ruining someones clothes is in fact criminal damage.

Cars themselves may cost over 50k...

The equiv to doing to a car, what happened to the kid in the vid, is throwing muddy water at the car...
No, as I said, I'm conservative, I expect mummy not to be at work when daddy is, and daddy not to be at work when mummy is...In the real world that's not always possible, you can't seriously expect people to take time off work just in case some **** soaks their kids.
And what's the chance of people wearing dry cleaning only clothes, remember my location, kids wear normal clothes to school here none of that uniform rubbish. Some jeans and a cotton t-shirt will not get ruined by getting them wet...Water will ruin clothes that are dry cleaning only, hence the label "dry cleaning only".
That's like saying stealing one t-shirt ( or uniform, whatever) is the same as stealing a brand new BMW...Irrelevant, it's criminal damage just the same.

This was in Plymouth...
I give up, it's criminal damage and reckless driving simple as. It could also have resulted in loss of earnings, hypothermia and missed exams. I can't believe people are complaining that the police are taking action against him.
Unlike this which ''could'' have resulted, keying someones car DOES result in financial damage.
