Mass Effect Renagade?

If 1) is the love scene or something, I think I read about it whilst deciding whether or not to buy the game :p.

2) Shucks, suppose I'll have to work for my credits then!

3) Cool - does the assault gun ever get useable :p?

The assualt rifle does get useable eventually but when I say that I've got the best spectre rifle and the crosshair doesn't recoil anymore but that's the only time I've found it useable.

The team I used was williams and wrex but now it's liara and wrex. She has awesome biotic powers and you just shoot them to **** when she uses lift. :p

I haven't quite gotten the hang of using biotic powers yet, just getting to grips with the combat orders :p. Haven't gotten Liara yet.

1) Its nothing to do with the love scene. Trust me, its worth waiting for.

2) Fraid so :)

2) Yes it does. Get better Assault rifles, and get the recoil/stability upgrades onto them.

All the weapons in the game are usuable, I must try a soldier to see how to get the best out the assault rifle tbh. Just bear in mind onmy first play through I was using a Pistol most of the time and jamming on Marksmen ability, and did just fine :)

At the lower difficulty levels, you can play it essentially FPS style - let the squad mates worry about themselves, and you worry about what your shooting :D

Doh - I haven't used the abilities once yet. I was planning on upgrading sniper rifles to max, would pistols be better?

I'm playing a soldier, and yes - very much just worrying about what I'm shooting :D.

No wait, I'm playing an infiltrator :p.

Yeah forget about the assault rifle if infiltrator. Don't worry the pistol is plenty powerful enough with the right upgrades... infact I think I'm right saying it's possible to make it have the most powerful single shot of them all?

Ok I'm enjoying the pistol now I've upgraded it a bit :).

1 thing I can't quite work out - the talents; eg Master Assassination which I've just unlocked gives +225% weapon damage, plus accuracy. However, I can't drag out Master Assassination from my spacebar menu, because its not there, just Assassination. Is the talent automatically selected (eg Master overwrites normal) or do I need to drag it out from somewhere else?

It's just automatically upgraded. So assassination is essentially master assassination as far as I'm aware.

Yeah, that's right. Any upgradeable powers are represented by just one icon so no need to swap them out. You automatically get the benefits of the highest one you've got.

As above has said.

Dont forget that Marksman is for Pistols only (use it all the time!) and Assassination is for Sniper Rifles only.

Edit: Use Assassination on every shot - gives stability as well as increased damage, so makes it easier to use at low levels!

I am using it whenever I can, takes a while to cool down though. Just unlocked Master Marksman so now have full points in Pistols and Sniper :).

Have just gotten past Matriarch Benezma(?) and am not looking around various planets.

What exactly happens when I survey 10/10 metals, 6/6 gases etc? And I've read about people scouring planets for things to sell, but have only managed to find little bits not worth much so far.

I wouldn't worry too much about credits. By the time you have anything fun to buy (Spectre gear) you will have plenty of credits if you have followed the side missions (which you should be doing for the XP anyway).

If you're playing as an Infiltrator, who are you taking as squad members?

I'm using Wrex and Williams at the moment, don't have Liara. Reason being that Wrex can take an absolute beating, and Williams seems very good with the assault rifle - but I understand thats not so much use later on?

Also - one thing I've meant to ask about squad commands, am I doing something wrong or are squad commands generally useless? I tell them to attack, they hang around me. I tell them to find cover, its always behind me, rally they stand next to me (fine), the other one I cant remember.

As an infiltrator though, I was kind of hoping my squad mates would run in, and I'd stay back a bit and pick people off with my sniper rifle. Doesn't always seem possible though.

On the PC, you can send each squad member to different locations. You should just be able to point at one location and press the up arrow and then point at a second location and press up again. I never had trouble doing this. They only get stuck when you tell them to attack a target you specify as more often that not they don't have a clear line of sight or something.

As you get more XP and level up, then you start to find more interesting goodies on the planets. I don't think anything happens when you get all the minerals/gases etc. It's just something for XP. I think when you collect all the stuff like Turian tags, Matriarch logs, you get something good. Don't hold me to that though.

Oh, well in that case I've completely failed to grasp the squad controls :p. I wasn't even aware you could click them to certain places.

It's the only squad control I use, really. Stick them on a corner, or behind low cover. That way they will pop up, much like you do and should use the cover.

As for the survey quest; the rewards or more the journey than the destination :) Each time you find something on a planet you get pretty nifty XP and credit rewards. They are well worth doing. Unfortunately, they are also mind-numbingly boring. Even with something else to do on the planet, the side quests aren't great. These days I just use Game Banshee maps and go straight the resources :p

Just played through it again on the PC, loved it on the 360 but didn't want to play through again on console at all. Really is a great game, can't quite decide whats better, guns or powers.

I played as a soldier first time through which meant awesome firepower, this time as a vanguard I think so mostly biotic powers, thing is I just as often forgot I had the powers to use while killing them with my shotty. The harder bits though being able to nuetralise groups of guys for short amounts of time is very useful.

Squad controls work but are relatively pointless, barely ever used them, its not a particularly hard game, tis all about the story really. NOt sure which I found more fun overall, I think the stupidest worst thing they did, was making you unable to use Snipers/assault rifles when not the proper "class". You can aim a pistol, you can aim anything else, a child can look through a scope and point it.

Limited firepower, something, but not being able to use them is fairly stupid. Still a fantastic game, can't wait for the new one.

Survey quests get you lots of money, you can normally buy an armour or a gun thats better than what the general current weapon drops you are getting are, but whatever you can buy is normally something that would drop on your next mission anyway.

Not sure tbh, do enemies scale to your level, or are they roughly set levels for specific missions. The end game was way easier this time, and I did more side stuff and the pinacle station stuff so was probably a good few levels higher.
