Games you hate, but everyone else loves.

COD. Particularly COD4.

Don't get me wrong, I found the SP story all right, just the whole "zomg multiplayer" thing was very snore.

OMG! Talk about the King and his new clothes! (Google it) I enjoyed the 1 player game however the spawn dead, spawn dead thing left me ice cold too.

Great one player game, but too short.

Has to be World of Warcraft.

And those types of fantasy games in general - just don't get them at all.

Specifically console wise, those Street Fighter games seem really one dimensional and have never appealed much.

Let me spell it out then; When Resident Evil was released, dinosaurs still roamed the rapidly cooling plant we now call Earth. This lead to a new gaming genre called survival horror.
Now all those horror and 'b' movie fans out there embraced this move, just as a Hammer House of Horror Vampire embraced a lilly white skinned virgins neck.

In short, it was and still is great and was ahead of its time. (however cr*p it may be by todays standards)
I played the original when it came out. I guess that's personal choice on whether it was good, I didn't see what made it "ahead of its time" either.

Not to mention that Resident Evil did not create the survival horror genre, games like alone in the dark came before it, maybe I should be asking you how old you are ;)

WoW and nearly all MMOs.

"Go get me 10 wolf skins"
"k"
"Sweet here's some marginally better armor. Go get me 20 wolf skins"
"k"
repeat til death

Emperor's new clothes. ;)

Also, can we not bite to anyone's comments here. I'd rather read people moaning about games they don't like than an "OMG UR WRONG" "NO U" argument.

A couple of ones that I agree on:

World of Warcraft - Played it for a few months then realised "I don't actually enjoy this one bit". Cancelled my subscription and never went back. I think I prefer more story driven games, WoW just seemed like an endless click-fest, the grinding like a fantasy-teenage arms race.

Gaylo & Guitar Hero.
rp2000

Have to agree on these also. Halo just seemed to me like another generic shooter with a mediocre plot. But then, I never played the original or number 2 when they first came out so maybe I missed the boat.

Must admit, never played Alone in the Dark.
Nearly 38 BTW, I was there at the start the Sinclair ZX80, how far do you want to go back?

Read past the King (uk) Emperor (Japan) error I made and you will realise that I was agreeing with orderoftheflame and therefore my post was relevant to this thread.

See the thing is, part of me does like some RPGs, though mainly single-player ones, because of the strategy involved in some of them, but every now and then I catch myself grinding in them (looking at you here, Fire Emblem), purely for the sake of getting some numbers to be a little bigger, and I realise I'm not actually playing the game any more, and I feel a little disappointed in myself.

I know, I was only being a pedantic sod and correcting you on the name of it. No harm meant there. :)

Street Fighter isn't really my thing either, but isn't it a bit harsh to be so critical of a game that is essentially everything it attempts to be? There are fighting games that do what you're looking for (Including others with the Street Fighter name).

Anything along the lines of Final Fantasy is probably as close as I can get to answering the original question, but even then it's not that I hate those games, there's just nothing about them that I find interesting. I can't think of any hugely popular game that a could actually make a justifiable case for why it's a bad game.

Actually forget that, FIFA all those years when it truly was **** but still sold millions.

cod 4 single player

what aload of tripe, wayyyy to much scripting going on for my liking and lets not forgive the endless enemies.

GTA Vice city and San Andreas, dont get me wrong they're probably excellent games, but I couldn't play them.

GTA4 changed all that, Liked GTA3 though

Guild Wars, totally crap, it was more of a co-op rpg rather than an MMO.
