Games you hate, but everyone else loves.

I wouldn't say there is one I hate and everyone else loves. There are a few I think that people overrate, but still I either like them or found them fairly good.

Halo series.
Street Fighter 4.
Tekken Dark Resurrection.
Gears of War.
Metal Gear Solid.
Resident Evil.

And I wouldn't say I hate it, but i've never got the type for HL2 at all. It's good, but when I see some of the members on here getting excited in the below regions over it, I just pity them. :/

Assassin's Creed
^Yah

Thought it was the biggest load of utter dog turd ever. I actually really hated the thought of my money adding to the large numbers in the developers coffers.

I'd have to also say Metal Gear Solid. I remember all my mates in school used to go on about it constantly and I tried my best to like it... however it wasn't meant to be. It was just all too stiff and awkward for me to enjoy it. I even tried again on one of the PS2 MGS games, but the same thing happened.

For example. I went and bought Street Fighter 4 on the 360 today. I was utterly disappointed with it. The graphics are absolutely stunning, the presentation is really slick overall and the menu's the sound effects, the voice acting, the entire package is really neat, tidy, and impressive. However, somebody forgot to tell Capcom that it's not the early nineties and we kind of expect a little bit more than a graphical update to street fighter alpha, well, by "we" I mean me. There are about 10 moves to master with each character, and you can't even go in any direction other than backwards, forwards, jump and crouch. Games have moved on since 1992 and I expected to at least have some interactive scenery, or the ability to go around your opponent instead of jump, crouch, forward, back.

Talk about missing the point, I'm glad you're not calling any shots at Capcom or it seems my favourite game at this point in time would have been ruined. :(

Infact what you just complained about is pretty much the same thing for every fighting game going...they are games that don't particularly need to evolve at all. 3D fighting games come and go, 99% of them are rubbish and standard 2D gameplay is superior.

p.s. you can go around your opponent, you just jump over them or cross them up. Some characters also have moves that place you behind your opponent. (Fei-Long has this I believe at least, few more if you include teleports) Being able to simply 'move' to the side of your opponent just sounds dumb and wouldn't work with 2D gameplay.

Anyway, for me...

Call of Duty 4
Metal Gear Solid 4
Oblivion
Assassins Creed
Final Fantasy
Resident Evil 4 onwards

Bioshock - Just seemed to be walking between rooms that all looked the same wondering when the next thing was going to jump out at you

Assassin's Creed - Started OK, then asked you to do the same thing 50 times whilst just adding more guards around.

I dont want to associate the word 'hate' with Halo, but id have to say that game.

Dont understand the hype around, but i do enjoy playing it.

I don't 'hate' the following, but have never 'got' them...

Zelda series
GC/Wii Metroid games (Super Metroid however is awesome)
Halo 2/3/ODST (enjoyed original though)
MGS 4
Ninja Gaiden (or any hack/slash game of that genre)
Any strategy game other than original Red Alert or Age of Empires
Any Football Management game (dullest thing ever even though Football is my favourite sport)

COD4 multiplayer...

I LOVED all of the COD single players, not a single that I didn't dislike, still, the second is the best and the 4th has the best short single player story out of all of them.

But it's nothing more than a fest of children spamming away on multiplayer. People claiming it was better than BC and BF2... Not in my opinion to be honest.

Half Life 2.

To quote a poster on here who's name I cannot remember now:

"The guy says 'we dont go to Ravenholm' all sinister and stuff, when really, what he should be saying is 'we dont go to Ravenholm because its bloody boring, just like the rest of the game".

I plowed through it desperately hoping that the good bits would start sometime, you know, the bit where everything clicks and a game kicks off, but it never did.

As for specific console games, Zelda, Goldeneye, Mario/kart/galaxy/world/64 whatever........... so very boring.

For me it's any FPS, so COD, Killzone, Halo...etc.

Just really don't enjoy them one bit even though they seem to be extremely popular!

JRPG's... Tried a few now, but something about them winds me up and irritates the living hell out of me.

World War 2 FPS games....

GTA 4. Just didn't get it.

Oh yeah, while I found the Halo series OK (Just OK and nothing more) I really could not get on withthe MP, which most people said was the best part....
