Cheap nurburgring fun?

Hey guys, me and some m8s are thinking of doing a bit of a eurotrip next year, bit of autobahn and a trip round the ring plus the usual sightseeing. Thing is he doesnt want to rag his Golf (mk4 GTi) and i drive a diesel mondy. So i suggested getting something cheap and fun and if we kill it so be it. I can afford about £2k is there anything that would be a good laugh/experience for such a trip, im looking at 1.8i mx-5's atm what else?

There is nothing cheap about killing a £2k car - it'll cost you £2k. And all the Armco you damage.

Surely its better to take a car with a view that killing it = bad?

No i dont mean smash it up or whatever what i mean is that if the gearbox or engine gives up due to hard driving that it wont be toooooo big a hit, not like killing an 8k 3 series or an old evo etc

You've got £2k of free cash to buy a car. What are you going to do to a diesel Mondeo that will cost more than £2k to fix?

i thought of such cars, but i think that the mr2 would be more fun track wise

I guess the 2k 4motions might not be in the greatest shape... still some decent mk3 vr6 around for just under 2K that are putting out over 200bhp with only simple mods.

Then what do you do with a broken car that's stuck in the middle of Germany? Will cost you a fortune to get it home and the local's won't touch it with a bargepole. Not the worlds most well thought out plan tbh.

nah but come, 2k is serious cash for a car to use for one trip. If he plans to to buy it and keep it as a track car i could understand.
