So anyone planning on getting this? I wasn't going to before but because of all the praise I heard it has been given I'm very tempted! Also it's got Daft Punk in which makes it almost impossible for me not to buy the game.

The Daft punk is rather tempting but.... DJing is just not my scene really. Plus I really am running out of space to store plastic instruments.

Plus looking at the list there is not a lot that I could bare to listen to.

So short answer: No

Had a look at this on Friday when I was picking up Forza and it just doesn't appeal to me. Was funny watching random folk trying to play it and fail miserably though. :D

I really wanted to get this until 1) I saw the price, and 2) saw some of the really random mixes.

I may still get it, but it's not a priority any more.

Looks amazing! The tracks are right up my street. Can definitely see my mates jumping on this, which will probably make it a buy.

Thats the only downside, the price is a bit.. meh.. and I didnt realise it was released so soon. Won't be picking this up over MW2 or L4D2.

What shop has demo units? Not seen any myself, would love to give it ago before I take the plunge.

IGN UK gave it a 9.3 O.o

IGN UK said:
8.0 Presentation
It's familiar 'Hero'-franchise fare with a DJ twist, meaning - music aside - it's slick and accessible, if a tad on the bland side.
8.0 Graphics
Background animation tends to be functional rather than spectacular but still does a great job setting the party atmosphere as the music starts to flow.
10 Sound
Mixes are outstanding, with a rarely-seen breadth of music that makes DJ Hero both hugely accessible and incredibly, unpretentiously, refreshing.
9.0 Gameplay
The initial lack of challenge might be off-putting, but as DJ Hero's intricacies come to the fore, it offers an incredibly unique, satisfying musical experience.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
Cleverly structured to get you to the meat of the DJ experience quickly, yet deep enough to ensure there's huge scope for improving your skills.

9.3
Outstanding OVERALL

HMV in Cardiff had one when I was in there on Sunday, had a spin and loved it.

Probably a good idea for people to check out the tutorial first, but being a man I just dived in ! :o

DJ Shadow – “The Number Song (2009 Version)” (Produced and mixed by DJ Shadow)

Has DJ Shadow been involved with the making of this?

I wonder if I can get a high score straight away, I'm not too bad with 1210's, that sounds almost blasphemous... :o

Yep I think there was a few DJs helping out. Daft Punk made 2 mixes, DJ Shadow is the main representative and then a few other well know DJs that I can't remember the name of :D

Anyone know of anywhere selling/posting this early? ;)

Was in HMV in Cardiff on Sunday and saw a young kid (probably 12 or 13) having a go, he seemed to be doing well. Not my cup of tea but looked fun none the less.

That IGN review is reassuring that this isn't a half-hearted new direction. Now, can I hold out till xmas.. if I can make it to MW2 I should be fine.
