Marlon King jailed for 18 months

Good riddance.

Next to get banged up is Barton and then Diouf!

You can't send Barton to jail, he's the best footballer in the world!

Nasty little scumbag by all accounts, got what he deserved.

Agreed...finally justice has prevailed....stupid idiotic muppet that he is....his career is definitely over...SSN reporting that Dave Whelan at Wigan saying he cant see King getting another chance to play football and quite rightly so.

God knows why his wife is still standing by him...must be the money hes got stashed away:p.

I'm sure he'd find a club to take him, although he might have to drop a division and take a hefty pay cut.

Gotta feel sorry for his wife I suppose.

HEfty pay cut from 38k a week, he could drop 3 divisions and get 5k a week, still massive money tbh, and by now he must have made more than 98% of the uk population will make in their lifetimes, so if he hasn't wasted it, its not like he'll have a hard life should his career be over.

But as you said, I'm sure someone will take the risk, too many small clubs will see him as a better quality striker than they can normally afford, but now can. Plus they'll just get him to sign a more detailed contract that any misbehaviour means they can fire him with little to no problem, should he step out of line they lose nothing type deal.

This is of course, assuming he's guilty, theres always that nagging feeling in the back of my mind that celebrities/sports stars make very easy targets for people looking for payoffs. So theres a part of me that thinks maybe its a setup and she expected a huge payoff to dissappear, or wants to sell her fake story to the Sun at a later date or something. I don't really know enough about the evidence to know he's guilty or not.

Unlike the evidence for the Gerrard case which IMHO, showed without question he was guilty and got off, maybe there is footage from the place he hit her, I haven't followed the case closely at all.

Quite amusing that his agent is now on SSN trying to defend the guy...saying it was a premature decision by Dave Whelan to sack him...i mean he has over 13 convictions so obviously its not that premature...good on Whelan to sack the scumbag and let him appeal...see how far it gets him.

To be honest he probably wont be that much of a risk to anther club when he is out but he shouldnt be allowed to play again any way.

True, and same here, I haven't followed this at all.

To play Devil's advocate, why shouldn't he be 'allowed' to play again? Once someone has served their time, for any crime, the slate should be clean and they can do whatever lawful activity they want.

I like how all the media are suggesting his career is over, we all know full well that once he's released clubs will be queueing up to sign him.

Completely agree. Same as Lee Hughes
