** Official ATI 5770 Thread **

but a 4890 is STILL more money than a 5770, it doenst support DX11 or eyefinity.. and is next gen stuff that is the equvalent price of a 4850...

Very immpressed with the card runs everything i can through at it @ 1680x1050 maxxed.

Agreed. This is an ideal card for 1680x1050 gaming.

Also seems to be good on the GPGPU side, BOINC Collatz workunits are completing in around 5-6 minutes.

Just some inspiration for all potential buyers... ;)

keenan, are you using a custom cooler or something, those are amazing load temps. Mine goes to around 62C on load !

If you look at the MSI Hardware monitor graph, it shows the fan at 100% which might help towards the low temps... maybe with a window open for cold air blowing in as well.

Now he's going to post that he was running the 5770 passive with the central heating on full blast :D

Well actualy, if you look at the MSI Graph, you will see the fan speed at 35%,

I see, the fan speed graph is below the Fan Speed label, I thought I might have looked at it a bit too quickly. Originally I was thinking the graph was above it where it does peak 100%, whereas in actual fact that is the GPU usage :D

The waterblock does explain the good temps :)

Around about the same performance with DX11 support. There is meant to be a performance boost with the new drivers coming out soon.

Are the drivers on the ATI site the latest ones to be using? Or are there any leaked betas out there I should give a look?

I've got a half day today and plan on getting round to installing this card. I've had it since Friday but not had a chance yet.

Anyone know how these will perform in Xfire on an 8x+8x board..? Thinking of adding another but wondering what the bandwidth restrictions will cause..

Cheers

Reviews say 4850 to 4870 performance. Can you verify your statement please? :-)

I've read 4870 performance, and I think it said comparable to 4890 performance in some benches, but by no means across the board.

I cba digging out links as I'm shattered atm.

Depends on the game/resolution.

On average the 5770 is pretty much 1:1 with a 4870 in the majority of stuff.

It beats a 4850 consistently.

And comes close to a 4890 now and again.

Where they really shine however is in CF, where they consistently beat the 5850, and match the 5870 in pretty much everything. For a fair few £'s less.
