Anyone have an idea what would be the best way to connect 4 fans to one channel on a big ng (supports 40watts of power per channel). splitters or ?

I have a BigNG, why on earth would you want to connect 4 fans to one channel? How many computers are you running off of this thing?

Why not? Once i have some more splitters I will be doing the same (4 fans from quad rad on one channel, 2 fans on dual rad on 2nd channel, front and rear case fan on 3rd channel and ram cooler on 4th)

Splitters are the only option here, no other way about it.

I've have just finished daisy chaining 3 fans that are fitted to my rad so that I can just hook them up to one channel on my Scythe Kaze Master Ace, it was a fairly straightforward procedure, and I am a total noob at soldering!!!

Here is a simple diagram that I followed to fix my fans together.

Here is a pic of my fans on my rad.

Thanks pauly, but my sleeving on this cables were really poor, I tried to get one piece of 4mm sleeving over the cables, but it just wouldn't expand enough, so I had to use a piece of 10mm sleeving on the thicker section, but at the end of the day, these wires won't be seen anyway, as they will be going under my rad in the basement of my TJ07 and then connecting to my fan controller.

I'm going to be fitting some grills onto those rad fans as well, hopefully I will be starting to move all my hardware from my current case this weekend, I am just waiting on my Silverstone CFP51 HDD bay thingy to get delivered then I can get cracking with my build..

@twist3d, if it is just the PWM signal that is coming from the fan header then I am sure you will be safe enough, can I ask how you go about doing this??

yea nice idea for the cables davy tempted to do that. Mind u for anyone who doesn't know u can cut the yellow cable because its just used for monitoring the fan (no power running through). I'm also quite lucky that my fans should be able to fit the heatshink and braiding all the way nearly up to the connections on the fan. Btw has anyone used a mini ng with there t-balancer (u get two phat 50w channels :P) ? Btw does anyone who has a x58 mb could u tell me if a 4 pin (not molex) connector is required (just wanna know so i can figure where to make my holes in my mb for cables)?

Yea chris this is a monster quad rad i7 quiet build in a lian li v2110 (will have 6 fans and thinking of having another 4 (cause i'm tempted to make two loops). Sadly it's not going to be a fast one but hey nm :D. But expect to see my build up sometime next week.

the mobo header connector has 4 wires coming out of it; 1 is the speed detection cable, 3 are for pwm to pass onto the 3 fans. essentially, i'm going to solder the same 3 wires on the new cable to these. the splitter cable has a 4-pin molex on it as well, which is what gives the fans their juice, so in the end i'll have 2 4-pin psu molex, 1 pwm mobo, and 6 pwm fan connectors. i'll remove the other fan speed detection cable too, to save on clutter (and it's completely unnecessary)

yeah that's the one i'm talking about mate :)

i'm splicing 2 of them together so it powers 6 fans instead of 3 (going for push/pull on my rad)

Hehe man that's gonna be crazy with 6 fans running off ur mb fan header. Seriously when u get the chance post a few pics of it :D. Hehe i should have 9 fans all together so should be interesting :D. My bigNG is going to be really ill by the time i've done with it :D.

are there any cables which will connect 4 fans to one channel on a lamptron fc5v2? I hate soldering and have no equipment so I'm looking what is available?

Bitfenix and phobya do 3/4>1 fan splitters, have a few on my fc5v2.

The bigng and lamptron controllers are fine for multi fan per channel, the cheaper 10w controllers not so much.

I'd just buy one of those Molex to 4x 3 pin adaptors, cut off the Molex and solder in a 3 pin fan header off an old fan.

If I didn't want to do that I'd make a distribution board like I have on my PWM converter circuits.

Both mods are two minute jobs if you have the parts. I don't have the parts for the first one as I've cannabalised my Molex to 4 fan cable but have plenty of board for the second one.

As for what is available off the shelf. I have absolutely no idea. I'm thinking there won't be one available as the possibility of someone sticking 4 fans on 1 fan header would blow motherboards.
