Forza 3 - Time Trial Championship

Best i have managed is a 1:04:3xx but it didn't count as was penalised :( so i got a 1:04:8xx, suprised how much better it was with TCS off and manual gears :D

I'm not the best at this but here's my effort ...

That's with a pad, ABS, clutch ... and telemetry :p
Despite going into the last corner too fast, a 1.03.1xx is probably my limit.

MONITOR OF WIN SAVES THE DAY :D (I <3 my built in card reader :D)

Pad, Manual Gears, TC ON, STM OFF, ABS ON

Was trying so hard to go under 1.05 but just couldn't quite do it tonight :(

However I did beat my only previous ghost which was a V6 Clio iirc which was quite a bit quicker down the straight :)

DO IT !!!!

I know your no quitter, keep at it mate.

Let me know when you reach the top 100 to I get your ghost.

Minor improvement 1:03.069

I have been slighty infront of your ghost after turn 4 but after many many laps I still can't take the right handed turn 5 just before the Dunlop bridge at the same speed as you. I lose 2 cars lengths on you on my best attempts and then the following hairpin I think you have perfect, not once have I been able to match you out of that hairpin and I lose ground all the way down the straight. One plus point is I can gain on your ghost in the final corner. :)

BTW your ghost is now ranked 101 so it is about to disappear off the download list.

Yeah I agree with you on the last corner could be better. Ive been able to gain approx 1/2 a car length on my PB their.
Ive even been up on my ghost before the Dunlop Bridge but lose out on that following straight like you. My best last night was 1:03.027 within 25 laps.

I also tried this briefly with Pad and OMG thanks but no thanks, I just cant get into it on a pad now playing racing games for the last 2 years with a wheel.

The pad is awful on Tsubuka as you need to steer half way or 3/4 on the slow tight turns but you end up turning into the grass. To compensate you add more power but end up washing out a bit wide and lose ground to Mr Lattes ghost (which is currently 99th).

My best with the pad is 1:04.011 and lapped consistently at about 1.04.2xx. It's the first corner where the ground is lost and I stay pretty much equal up until the last hairpin.

On the first corner I experimented with different lines.
It is possible to stay wider going deeper but getting more speed coming out of the corner. Doing this with the increased speed down the next small chicane allows the car to catch up against doing a tighter quicker entry and by about the tight left hander theirs not much in it.

I suppose this type of entry might suit you on a pad and of course if racing online behind a car this would be best to gain the extra speed and draft from a car in front down the following straight.

I would like to have a go with a wheel as this track particulary highlights the limits of a pad. (Although I'm still fairly close just under 2 tenths behind you). The problem I have is lack of space, I just don't have room for a setup like this. :(

Bound to have room for a wheelstand and wheel come on now...
It takes up about 36"x16" and can then fold away.

What wheels are people using? I have the feeling I'm going to get quite involved with F3!

I just use the MS Wheel, slightly modded, would love the Fanatec Turbo S (and Clubsport pedals), as mr Latte has., but sadly funds are lacking!

I'm using a MadCatz MC2 MicroCon wheel and pedals.

Nice compact size, with two little slidey bits on the underneath of the wheel to hold it in place when on your lap.....

I've not used a wheel for years. Last one I had was the MS wheel that connected via the MIDI port!

Do the new wheels feel more connected to what the cars doing? There used to be an annoying delay between turning the wheell and the car responding.

Not sure if this uploaded to the leaderboards or not but I have a phot for backup although hopefully I can improve on that.
