Kareonke acquires 29.9% of Arsenal stock

He's got lots and lots of money, his wife has got as much money as him aswell. He has has a history of sport which is good, and his not a murdering rapist like another share holder.

Of course Stan doesn't have enough shares yet, and doesn't have to buy the club. It's interesting that 100 of the shares came from Peter Hill-Wood.

Its got to be a wig :D

Well... I dunno, I just love the brown-ness of it, despite the white moustache. Maybe he bought shares in Just for Men, as well. :D

And yes, I think that his wife is an heir to Wal-Mart so they've got Mega Bucks. He already owns the Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rapids, 30% of the St Louis Rams, Denver Bronco's, Colorado Crush and the Colorado Mammoths, so he certainly likes his sports. To be fair though I don't think it will make too much difference to us, we don't tend to spend that much in the transfer market and even if Wenger had tens of millions at his disposal he would still stick to his youngsters.

I think he'll stick just under the takeover amount at the moment, at least for a year or 2 till the economy is looking a bit better.

You mean, an incredibly smart business man keeps buying shares up to the auto takeover point, but he'll wait two years till the club's value will drastically decrease, their stadium debt is far smaller and it will cost him 2-3 times the amount to take over the club.

Yeah, thats how most businessmen get to be billionaires, wait till everything they buy is way more expensive and strong, then buy.

I also find it funny that the automatic assumption is one billionaire can't be better than another one, because every billionaire is pure evil and can only ruin every business they get into.

How about, before we all jump all over our new overlord before he's uttered a single word on the subject, we don't decide he's evil, we don't assume he's out to kill the club just because he's american, we don't automatically join forces to support the manager and hurl insults at the guy who will likely own the club in the future.

Maybe support him, untill and IF he does something bad for the club?

We could also not all get lost in over expectations and not actually get angry because a billionaire won't just spend hundreds of millions making us win everything like certain other clubs fans do. If he spends, he spends, if he doesn't, he doesn't, such is life.

There we go - he has it. I really can't ascertain what's around the corner. Are we going to go down the Hicks/Gillette route, Randy Lerner, or what else..

The first thing he's going to do is raise ticket prices, then sell off your best players like Fabregas and Van Persie. Next he'll get rid of Wenger and bring in someone more stable. He'll want a new stadium so he'll have to get lots of loans and put the club in debt and as a direct result of this, ticket prices will go up even further and eventually no one will pay them and Arsenal will go bust and he'll lose hundreds of millions. :p

The worst part and I've saved this for last is he wants to bring in a director of football to oversee all transfers.

Who has hurled insults at him? no one on here that I can see.

Just ignore him he loves his little attacks on everyone. Its quite cute really how he gets it so wrong all the time yet still sticks to his beliefs ;)

Bless him and his little rants :D

I dont think you can say any billionaire hasnt stepped on a few toes on their way to their fortune. I wouldnt quite class him as an overlord though

I've heard Diaby is his favourite player and would be made the highest paid player at the club if he completes the takeover..

If he's evil it's probably Alex Song's fault.

I see you two are the other ones that subscribe to DMs mighty posts lol

drunkenmaster as much as i value your insights into high finance (about as much as i do your opinions on Arsenal) i'll stick by my opinion that i dont think he'll be attempting the takeover any time soon. He may not ever do it. He may just be buying as many as possible to maximise profits for when the russian makes a takeover attempt or any number of reasons that you or i dont know. If he does do it soon then we can just chalk it up as one of the few times you said something right ;).

Shotgun opinions...one will stick ;)

meh, The whole FC United Glazer thing has long been forgotten, look at what Manchester United have won under Glazers, personally, Arsenal could do with the money but how will Wenger feel when he has a big pot of money, personally, the best team to buy in the EPL is Arsenal because of Wenger.
