Sky TV on Xbox

If its the only way to watch Footy then if youre that much of a fan you will pay the £40 or so. If you want the full sky package as such then its a waste of money when you compare the amount of channels you get with this compared with "proper" Sky, if you have Sky multiroom wouldnt a 2nd box be a far better system? Even at a push the BT vision thing which also has streamed content including loads of premier league footy seems a far better deal than this.
Also read that it looks like it will make its way to the PS3 at a later date, again i still cant see the point TBH. Its a good idea if you have the full Sky package as its free else i think its to much money for what you get, if it was pretty much the same content as sky then Id be more interstead.
 
I think theres a 1 month trial that they are doing for non-multiroom users - its on the sky website. I hope it gets released again soon, i've not been able tot try it out yet :(
 
I was looking for it yesterday and couldn't seem to find it, there was a Dashboard update of some sort when I turned on the XBox and I thought maybe it was going to offer Skyplayer as an option, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Athanor, where did you download it from.
 
I'm assuming that the service is still down? There's nothing at all in the video marketplace. Also, when I registered it told me that my viewing card was already registered, which isn't possible.
 
Looks like they have removed it from marketplace for anyone who hasn't downloaded it already. I got it the other day and the service seems ok, it doesn't really seem worth getting without the extra packs which push the price up quite a bit as the channels you get with the base package are pretty limited and not worth £15 a month. With the movie packs and access to the on demand movies it seems pretty good as you can stream all the on demand movies for free and there's a pretty good selection there. I got it with the 3 months for the price of 2 offer for about £22 a month with both movie channels but will probably cancle it when that expires
 
i like the easy menu system and the avatar sitting watching a show is fun, especially being able to get it to make emoticon expressions. very nice how you can move the view around the room and see the TV on the wall behind you etc. i know the above is not essential to watching Sky, but it adds to the fun of using it.

i'm quite impressed with this on 360, the quality of picture is very good and it suffered no problems in streaming the video.

while i can't think of when i'd use this (i have a Sky box into the same tv as 360) apart from showing others, it gets a big thumbs up from me for those who will use it.
 
It's being rolled out gradually now, most of you should be able to get it.

It shows up under Video Marketplace (just to confirm), and if you still cant see it, you should be able to inside of this week.

Its surprisingly nice actually, just need to get my connection sorted as O2 fail and have capped everything atm :(
 
Do people get this free with an existing sky package I was under the impression from what I read on the sky player that you do?
