So without spoiling stuff for others in the other thread i figured id start this one up.

--

So anyone else enjoying it so far. I'm doing the Dwarf campaign so far. Just grabbed the shield and now in the prison. Been enjoyable so far. The combat reminds me of KOTOR system which i liked.

Just scored a free nice sword off this messenger hehe.

Also just got up to osgard or somit the place where u do ur recruitment joining thingy. Off on a quest for em soon to get some blood and scrolls. Anyone up to this point?

Btw the game does look nice in some places but crap in others saw some doors look like they were painted in Paint lol. Terrible quality. Also when at that osgard or somit place and look off to the distance from a view point bit u can see the land below in poor quality lod.

Think its ostaguard maybe.

Also the fps took a nose dive when i got here. Can dip to the 25+ area. Compared to the start of the game where i get 70+ fps. Btw have forced aa to 16x qq or somit and supersampling on which i think aint working cos when u look at ur character and others theres shimmering on the armors edges etc.

Turned down aa to 4x with 1600x1200 res. Still below 30fps in most cases, grr..

The gfx im finding worse as i go through. There is a distinct lack of effort in some parts of the enviroment be it the lack of a edge on the water, the clipping problems galor the glitches like walkin into a wall and being lifted a foot and ur walkin on air while against the wall (look out point one of em in ostagard. Also placement of objects. Impassable terrain (no go anywhere ur naturally blocked by bushes). There isnt any splashes when walkin in the little bit of water u can walk in and no splashin sounds.

Also duno if its just me but double clicking to get a item of loot sometimes requires loads of clicks to work which is annoying.

Gameplay wise its good but the gfx are very rough with the odd nicety like when viewing water from directly above and from small distance looks photorealistic if the light catches it nicely.

Hope a patch comes soon to sort the fps issue out and the gfx issues.

anyone finding normal mobs incredibily difficult in groups? Like for example the bandits outside of the village you first travel to with morrigan. Not the first set you encounter when first entering the village but the ones near the prisoner.

Some of the fights are hard, I've died quite a bit, but I've always been able to pull through by better micro-management of my team.

What I tend to do is get everybody hitting one enemy as they go down quicker that way. While doing this, pause and get a single character to execute some sort of stunning move on another enemy and then get back to beating on the same one. As that one falls, attack another in a group and repeat. Works much better than taking them on at random.

Did you ever RvR in Dark Age of Camelot? ;)

I've never played that before, what's RvR?

I've only really played Neverwinter Nights where you used to be able to just click attack and sit back and watch.

I first played this are on easy setting and found it very easy. I have since played it on normal and noticed a huge jump in difficulty. The way I beat this group was to only pull a few bandits at a time. I attacked from behind them and pulled the archers first. It split the fight into 3 rounds and was quite easy from there.

Say hello to Saurana, my city elf rogue (the one at the back of the first picture). It started off as a nice day for a white wedding...

Unfortunately some of the guests didn't behave, and she spilt a few gallons of blood down her dress:

Edit: P.S. I have an Intel Q9550 and an ATI 5850, running at 1920x1200 with everything graphical maxed and I'm seeing no slowdown

i got this yesterday, playing a woman noble rogue. i'm just on the first quest to join the grey wardens. my annoyances so far include a restricted view and restricted scrolling - it feels too "tight" i don't feel as if i have enough control over planning or scouting a fight (even with the pause button); multiple clicks to loot a corpse and my ai melee guys love to charge forward into the fight despite me telling them not to.

however, saying that i was impressed with the intro of the noble human and the enemy ai has surprised me. the main example was the ranged mage guy on the bridge, i moved forward to engage him and my trusty melee guys legged it forward and my archers pinged him from range. the mage guy runs back to his camp, my guys of course follow, straight into loads of traps and they are picked off by archers on the other side. the mage guy comes back and finishes off the rest of my team.

it's the only time i've wiped so far, but I have used loads of health potions (playing on normal).

Attempted Wardens Keep DLC lastnight, actually pretty short but got a kick ass staff for my mage in there, certainly notice the characters can take a beating a lot better now than im around level 7-8

Anyone else find the loot disappointing?

After defeating a tough mob including a high level (yellow) there's nothing like receiving a health potion for your troubles, despite using 10 to survive. :|

Wouldnt expect the loot to be omg awesome at the start of the games, its pretty generic but as mentioned above I got a great staff in Wardens Keep DLC which is accessible when you first go to your camp site.

The staff had great stats and also has a frost effect glow.

I don't expect some uber magical item for beating a mob, I just expect it to be slightly proportional to the difficulty of the enemy. Even a slightly better weapon that isn't enchanted would be more welcome than a health potion or a useless spirit shard.

Its all relevant though, a yellow mob is just the difficulty of that particular mob in relation to your level.

The mob could have just been a basic every day minion that was just higher level than you.

Generally the hard mobs will be named as such, ie Alpha, Leader, Commander or OMGYOURGONNADIEFASTDEMONDUDEFROMHELL!
