Completely drenched by the police...

Just walking home from work, two police cars come flying along, blues and twos, down a completely empty road.

Now I know they're responding to an emergency, but did they avoid the puddle at the side of the road? Don't be silly. I got absolutely drenched, head to toe with a wall of water. Twice. As a result, my iPod seems to be completely dead. I've got it sitting on the radiator at the mo, so hopefully it'll be alright... but if it's not, where do I stand? If I was to do that to someone I'd be prosecuted for driving without due care.

Just feeling a bit miffed, as I'm sure you can understand, and I know it's fair to say **** happens but if my iPod's dead, I'm gonna chase this up.

Anyone able to advise me?

I apologise, because the first thing I did was burst out laughing :D

Unfortunately, I have no advice for you, apart from perhaps you should put your iPod in the airing cupboard for a few hours, even overnight and see how it goes.

You cant move a car into the other lane to dodge a puddle or a pothole, that would be dangerous? Or atleast thats what i think?

I drive safely, i cycle like a complete maniac!

Your problem is going to be proving this unless you took down numer plates. Also if the matter wasw very seriouse, i doubt if they had anuthing else on their mind apart from getting there quickly.
Don't think you will get far with this.

Did make me laugh but if it was a clear road and they could safely move round it, whats stopping them?

I would goto your nearest station and explain the story, don't expect much though.

I think I'll pop into the citizen's advice bureau on Monday. But yeah, I'm thinking I'm not gonna get anywhere. No picture of the puddle (though it's always there), and they were absolutely flying, so no numberplates. All I can say is it was two Vectras.
