Anyone know if the included software is any good?

The actual display controller software is "adequate" in that it mostly works most of the time.

I never bothered with the iMedian software as media centre does a much better job.

The main problem with these displays is that the promotional pictures bear no relation to how the actual LCD's look when you take them out of the box.

You will see the picture shows a white foreground and black background, nothing could be further from the truth. All the ones I've ever seen have had a pink background and cyan text, and are so bright they're actually a distraction and look truely abysmal.

I would advise checking the Soundgraph user forum and having a look at other users posts. Also, there's a review that shows what the LCD's *actually* look like on this page:-

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/mms_premier/2.htm

You will see that what it's supposed to look like and what it really does look like bear no resemblance. Compared to the displays you're probably used to seeing on other devices, this one is a real dog.

I ended up binning mine. The thing looked so unbelievably bad I couldn't figure out how it made it to retail unless everyone at Antec is visually impaired.

Soundgraph (the manufacturer of the LCD) claim that the LCD's should come with a "filter window" to tint and darken the display to the correct brightness, but none of the Antec veris components contain this filter.

Soundgraph are firmly blaming Antec, saying they have a fault in the manufacture process that has left this filter ommitted. All in all it's a complete mess that appears to be effecting all Antec products that contain these LCD's at the moment.

Each to their own but I would say avoid at all cost.

I feel pretty much the same about this as magilla. this advert was also posted elsewhere on the forums on the same day

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=15281032#post15281032

quoting myself from posts 5 & 7:

I have owned this product before (the dual slot premiere version) and i have to say i resold it within a week. its not too bad feature-wise, but the remote control was very weak and would not work much further away than 1 meter.

maybe i just got a bad one but its something to be aware of.

well i cant give an oppinion about the basic one, but the premiere one, this is what i remember (from a year ago mind)...

the display its self is a bit more if a gimmic and not too functional. (but i believe the ones with displays have other extra functions, not just the display.

the knobs fell off a couple of times (i might have been a bit rough) but they went back on just as easily. they were not 100% smooth while turning.

i only used one of the knobs for volume control while gaming, but then i got a keyboard with volume control on it.

i never used the buttons because i had a remote control which had all the functions and more, so no point to that.

i didnt like the way it integrated with my tv card (im using windows xp pro and a hauppauge card - which has a much better remote control anyway)

the software was good overall (lots of control), and the remote control functions were customisable.

there is a forum for the product.

there are updates that u should get for it, those are on the same website.

it looked quite good in my cm690 case, visually very nice IMHO

thats all i can remember but further questions may promt my memory.

I notice that overclockers are still cherry picking the review submissions.

I gave this device 1/5, and a review that reflected reality. I guess that doesn't sell products.

5 out of 5 for this rubbish is a joke! These user reviews are worthless cherry picked nonsense, half the time I have to wonder if they're posted by the staff, they bear so little resemblance to reality.
