The sp campaign in cod4 got on my **** due to the never ending wave of respawning enemies if you stopped at all they would just keep on coming.

P2P has proven itself time and time again to equate to a short game life, look at OFP2-DR its been out about a month and its already finished, I read on the CM forums the other day that the weekend of the 31st Oct there was a total of 16 players online for goodness sake.

I cant help but think that once the novelty of being able to throw your knife or hide behind a shield wears thin then as usual people will start to notice that you don't seem to have to aim to kill anyone and other cracks start to appear then they will either go back to COD4 or simply move on.

With IW and Activision already stating there's a new COD title due next year as well, what do people think is the projected life span of MW2 ?

Moh airborne released with p2p, they then added dedicated servers but by then it was dead, still a few hundred people play it and thats it

All i know is that there are enough playing to join an online game when you want to. That's good enough for me.

Anyone managed to invite their friends into a game yet? And does it search through your Steam friends list for people playing MW2? I don't have any friends............that have MW2 (;)) and when i click Invite, nothing happens. I assume that is why?

I'll be your friend

Only played MP so far. Reasonably good game.

BUT 6v6 gets boring, FAST. To the point where I probably won't load MP again.

That bad? Now that I didn't expect.

I think I may just have to wait for BF:BC2 and Red Orchestra 2 to come out to satisfy my multiplayer needs. RO2 really looks awesome tbh (if you haven't checked it out already take a look at some of the dev videos of it).

Back on topic: Is the aim in the general direction hit detection like on consoles really as bad as some make out or is it infact lag prediction trying to over come the fluxuating connection speeds/responses?

Sounds like all the early adopters will have finished the SP by the end of the weekend at the very latest, even allowing for weekend car washes, kids trips out etc :p

Ah well, wonder if the MP figures increase on Steam much?

My brother has finished it already.

AYe, i love the 5v5 and 7v7 format for MATCHES yea but my god how fun is a 60man public once in a while.

In two minds about this

***WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

Well just been playing the SP for a good 5 hours (normal difficulty) and so far enjoying it a lot. Soon as the first mission starts your straight into the action. Its surprisingly challenging aswell with enemies popping out from everywhere.

Graphics are good and the game seems well optimised (average 70fps with everything maxed), also nice little details such as using ice picks to climb and when helicopters fly through smoke the smoke blows about in the wind created by the blades.

The story line is good and some parts are like :O, seem to have spotted a celebrity voice in there aswell ;). There is a huge choice of weapons and customisation which make for varied styles of gameplay.

So far i like what im seeing and certaintly worth the money. :D

I am yet to try the MP but expect it to be good aswell.

ah Steam and the Half life 2 days, it's all coming rushing back to me like a steaming pile of ****

Can't say Steam or Half-Life 2 for that matter ever gave me any issues.
I still find Half-Life 2 deathmatch to be one of the most enjoyable games to play, and if your playing with friends or the same server where you get to know people its a real blast. I don't think its something you would hardcore every night however.
