What's the views regarding the increasing chat about the old firm joining a new Premierleague?

Anyone got any good ideas on what they can do?

Also how would you just put 2 new teams in a league, wouldn't they have to work their way up...

They talk about a 2 tier league but surely this would make the lower tier the championship and de value the rest of the football league and the premiership teams playing in this lower tier premierleague

I would really hate it if this happened. Surely it would be like Porto and Benfica joining La Liga? Crazy.

Can't believe the amount of managers supporting it, people like Moyes, idiot.

I know people point to the fact that Cardiff, Swansea and others are in the English system but this doesn't mean we have to like it or what anymore, does it?

Tough luck, IMO. You've got to play the cards you're dealt, a bit like having to support Newcastle. :D

Moving the two biggest/best teams out of the league would weaken it even more.

They're Scottish, they can play in the Scottish league can't they? The whole idea is absolutely crazy in my opinion.

However, if they did want to join the English leagues they should start at the bottom, neither are good enough to deserve automatic entry to the Prem

Aye, surely a better idea would be to put Middlesbrough and any teams north in the SPL to liven it up a bit, much less travelling involved too :p

I'd go as far to say the championship is probably better standard than the SPL from 4th downwards :)

I can see a European League in the future anyway, I don't see why that won't happen eventually

This seems like a much better idea!

Plus, this would make it a little easier for Middlesbrough and the likes to get into Europe surely?

The top two aren't as strong as they used to be but I still think they would beat a fair few teams in the Premiership quite comfortably, probably not beat any of the top teams to start with, but I think they would both end up either in or very close to the top10 on their first attempt.

Celtic and Rangers would struggle against Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Man City... possibly Everton and the rest would give a good game.

I wouldn't say Celtic and Rangers would beat anyone comfortably

So that makes a top10 finish still being possible.

Get rid of Cardiff and Swansea, let them join the sweaties in a too-big-for-a-tiny-pond league. No need for them in our league system.

The Celtic fans can stay in Scotland for all I care the disrespectful ****s. :)

I DO NOT want this to happen.

I will add, if they do join our league system then they can start from the bottom in the Blue Square Halfiax North Conference Division or whatever it's called :p

They wouldn't be in the Prem long, they're awful and would probably be playing in the Championship :)
