Do any of you group up and play online? Wouldn't mind playing with a few folk and using a mic or something. It gets a bit boring on your own. :(

What are the current rates of the national minimum wage?

There are three levels of minimum wage, and the rates from 1 October 2009 are:

* £5.80 per hour for workers aged 22 years and older
* a development rate of £4.83 per hour for workers aged 18-21 inclusive
* £3.57 per hour for all workers under the age of 18, who are no longer of compulsory school age

GOD DAMN

This been posted before? Sorry if it has, Interesting though....

• Navigate to the folder: 'program files\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players' and open the file config_mp.cfg

• Change scoresping_interval from 100 to 20, and maxbars from 4 to 10 (10 is the max).

• This means that each of the 10 bars represents 20ms, with full green being 20ms or lower, and 1 red being 200ms or higher.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE:

===============================

The sad truth? You might wanna pound a few beers before you read this:

• The host is immediately obvious, he's the guy with 0-20 ping (full green).
• I usually connect with about 101-200+ms.
• Most people are connected at 200+ms (3 or less bars on normal cfg settings).
• On regular cfg settings, 4 bars means up to 0-100 ping, 3 bars 101-200, 2 bars 201-300, 1 bar is 301+.

WHAT PING MEANS:

and this is worth reading too.... (I know some commands can be done via the options but not all of them)

// Shows an indicator when there a flash/stun grenade is thrown near you
seta cg_hudGrenadeIconEnabledFlash "1" (default value is 0)

// Amount of packets sent per second
seta cl_maxpackets "100" (default value is 30)

// This will connect you to a server with maximum X amount of ping
seta cl_maxPing "110" (default value is 800)

// Max frames per second shown
seta com_maxfps "250" (default value is 85)

// Disable/enable lagometer
seta drawLagometer "1" (default value is 0)

// Enable/disable dynamic environment, ie objects will move when shot at etc
seta dynEnt_active "0" (default value is 1)

// Enable/disable your HUD
seta hud_enable "1" (default value is 1)

// Enable/disable in-game console (this seems to work with english keyboards only?)
seta monkeytoy "1" (default value is 0)

// Set the amount of anti-aliasing
seta r_aaSamples "16" (default value is 2)

// Enable/disable distortion from weapons, explosions etc
seta r_distortion "0" (default value is 1)

// Number of dynamic lights
seta r_dlightLimit "0" (default value is 4)

// Enable/disable depth of field
seta r_dof_enable "0" (default value is 1)

// Play in fullscreen/windowed mode (fullscreen is 1, windowed is 0)
seta r_fullscreen "1" (default value is 1)

// Amount of ping bars shown, the more ping bars, the more precise ping will be shown
seta cg_ScoresPing_MaxBars "10" (default value is 4)

// Ping interval
seta cg_ScoresPing_Interval "20" (default is 100)
Explanation: If you have ping interval on 100 it means you have a 100 ping when you have full bars. If you have your ping interval on 20 it means you have 20 ping if you have full bars, and 20 extra ping for each bar that is gone, so if you have 6/10 bars you have a 100 ping.

Also take note on that I have modified several other commands, but chose not to post them here because they may not be appropriate or useful to some.

You can disable the music in-game by changing the name of the miles folder located in the same directory as your config.

Some of you may have seen people use colored names, and if you don't already know how to do it, you can simply edit your steam nickname and use the same color system as in COD4, for example if you want a red name, you use ^1yourname.

^^^ no option in the console version so why should there be one on the pc version? lol.

Would love to be able to turn the music off... I hate music in games. Rather just hear the gun shots and ambient noises tbo.

I'd assume you'd want access to the console to change your fov to something better than tunnel vision 65 degrees, 75 or 80 degrees makes a huge difference, anything above 90 and it looks all fisheyed though.

Also a console would be handy for checking and setting rates to a sensible level to reduce hit reg issues, though I'd have a guess that due to the p2p hosting you couldn't set your rates to 100 like in CoD4 or CS:S for example.

I'll have my pc upgrades either tomorrow or monday so I may give in and get MW2 just to test it out, though I think shattered horizons will do that just fine.

May of been asked already, but I am not trawling through 1700 posts to find it.

Can you still shoot through walls?

It's one of my major gripes in COD4, made taking cover completely useless, and without having leaning in this will make it extra **** if a deagle can still headshot you through 3 walls :(

I do not remember paying £35 for a PC game back in 1999...I remember buying FIFA 98 and that was £25 back in 1997. If I also remember rightly FIFA 99 and FIFA 2000 were around the same price...

I'm sure you did pay £25.

But most PC games sold at £35.

I remember getting Monkey island 3 for £20 and being over the moon with the bargain i had got.

Quick question...

I have read various posts that indicate if I buy the full dvd release - then I will still have to download the game through steam. Can someone confirm this for me?

The reason I ask is that I intended to buy the game today through retail but my internet connection is currently running extremely slow - about 1meg infact, so there is no point in me buying this if I am still required to dl the whole game through steam.

Cheers

False, there is a bug though that sometimes makes Steam try to download it from the net, but there are workarounds to get it to install from the DVD's if this happens.

You install the game as normal (via disks) through steam, only download is downloading the steam application/installer.

yup and if anything it seems even worse, i got shot through a warehouse, i was one end him the other, not just the other side of the wall, he stepped behind cover same time as me and i'm deader than a dodo :(.

The game seems great, allot like the first one which is obviously a good thing, however it's also visually like the first one, nothing has improved in that department.

Allot of the textures are very low resolution, the lighting and shadows are prety poor as well.

So graphically poor, but still a great game, but not worth the £40. :eek:
