Microsoft security essentials seems to work fine for me.

Years ago maybe, but Avira has replaced that now (imo). For a free solution anyway

MSE is perfectly fine as a free product and light enough that I barely even notice it.

The new version of AVG seems good enough. Know plenty of people running it without problems and still hugely popular.

Yeah I'm reading good things about this. Not sure how frequent the updates are though but in all it's a vast improvement on their previous efforts.

Might stick on one of my workshop PCs.
