Essential iPhone Apps

As a ex keyboard synth player I just found this little gem, NLogSynth.

Virtual analog synth / keyboard.

There is a free version but a paid version which is fully editable, loads of fun in a geeky way :)

Also found one called DB-303 which is a good sim of a Roland TB303 Baseline, kind of pointless but good fun

anyone tried sky mobile new and sports?

lets you watch sky sports and news on ur phone but costs £6 a month, o2 customers can get a free 3 month trial code tho(first 150,000 to text in), i got a code but just realised it only works over wifi not 3g :/ gonna hang on to the code to see if they make it work over 3g.

I'm watching the Tennis on Sky Sport 2 on the iPhone 3G. Quality of the stream is very good, havn't tried hooking up to the T.V.

I think £6 a month is really good price and I hope they bring other packages e.g movies.

Nope, though just got my code by texting SKY to 2020 :p
Cheers for the heads up. :)

Do I have to input my bank details to sign up for it (even though I entered my code)?

Seem to want bank details from me even though my code has been accepted. I'll probably give this one a miss then as I will only use it occasionally and I'm bound to forget to cancel the subscription :p

Yeah that was my worry. They have an option to stop auto-renew, so I checked that, and it should be fine :).

Some will be covered, but my favourite apps so far;

Facebook - pretty self explanatory
FlickR - pretty self explanatory
Last.fm - pretty self explanatory
Twitterific - chose this over Tweetie, as it was free, might get Tweetie if i decide to use Twitter more..
IM+ Lite - can't make myself pay the extra for no adverts, and they don't bother me too much, good app
Sky Mobile TV - absolutely awesome, really surprised by the quality of it
Sky+ Record - pretty handy, I always forget to record stuff, so it helps
Best Camera - my newest app, anyone into Photography should get it, really nifty and kind of similar to the FlickR community
Air Mouse - pretty nifty, use this to just control my Mac when i'm not near it
Remote - easier to control music as i can see my library, and play music anywhere in the house
Allowance - prefer this over MyO2
Flick Fishing - really addictive, even though its just fishing
Fling - really addictive time waster
Tap Tap Revenge 2 - as above, play this pretty often
Flight Control - another good time waster
RedLaser - don't use it that often, but its pretty cool, have saved a few quid using it, actually!
AroundMe - very handy, can find shops/restaurants etc quickly
Shazam - i always hear a song i don't know what it is, this has found quite a few of them so far

Got a few more, but mostly just ones i downloaded for the sake of it, above are pretty much my favourite ones.

Wow, just got sky mobile tv, it's insanely good! Has anyone tried to hook it up to a tv yet? If so (if it looks fine!) I will definitely be happy to pay the subscription after 3 month free runs out.

Spent ages trying to sign up yesterday, finally got the site to load but wouldn't let me enter the details for my house address in the boxes, would highlight and go off.

Very frustrating!

Did you use the postal search to find your address? It's a real pain sometimes and wish they'd just have normal boxes to enter house details.

I've just finished watching the rugby, good quality occasionally dropped off, can't wait to see what it's like hooked up to tv.

how well does it eat battery?

Couldn't tell you for a full game how much it would take because I left mine on charge yesterday :o I'm probably gonna buy a dock + cables to connect up to tv this week, probably will have it on charge when watching most the time. I'll give it a go now and find out how much battery it uses up for half hour/ hour of watching and get back to you.

Ah gutted... will have to see if it's worth the subscription to watch on iphone, not bad but pretty unsociable!

utajoker: Just used 15% of battery watching 40 minutes of footy. 0.375% per minute with reasonable brightness?

thx hendrix

about 1/3 battery for a footy match if there is wifi about, i dont think im gonna get this untill it can work over 3g, already got sky sports at home so i mite aswell watch it on the tv instead :p

tvcatchup works over 3g this should too!
