Separate SSD for Games - Worth it?

I'm thinking of taking the step into the world of SSDs soon. There used to be a significant performance boost on games when using traditional hard drives by having OS on one physical drive and the game itself on another.

I appreciate that seek times still exist, they're just smaller, so there will definitely still be a performance advantage by having two drives in an academic sense, but my question is whether having two SSDs will actually give any REAL performance increase over running games and OS off the same SSD.

there's no real performance advantage to running games and os on seperate drives, or rather the advantange is almost immesurably small.
If you plan on getting two drives, get the same model and run them in RAID0, SSDs scale almost linearly in RAID0 and the performance boost will certainly outweigh any disadvantages.
It's not as noticable as getting the first SSD becasue you are no longer bottlenecked by storage as often, but it will still help in some situations like level loads.

Unfortunately that will actually slightly decrease performance the rest of the time. I'm not sure even if it will be noticeable - but RAID 0ing them will increase access times.

It's not noticeable, in the same way for most things the benefits of RAID0 SSDs are not noticeable either.
