HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

How can it be any more simple than starting the app and clicking kill?

Taskiller sits on your notification bar so you can open it easily - Doesn't Advanced Task Killer need to be accessed through the settings?

It can sit at the top of the screen too. Mine does.

Yep it can. I don't leave it running though, I added it to the list of apps to kill. One tap of the icon, one tap of the kill button, done.

EDIT: isn't tapping an icon, then button easier than dragging down the notification bar and then clicking the button?

It sounds like they are of a muchness - to be fair tho - after the last HTC ROM update I haven't needed to kill off any apps. It runs super slick the whole time.

Kernel V: 2.6.27-0078c992
Build: 2.73.110.26 CL#69351

I just bought one off ebay for a good price. I currently have the g1 unlocked on o2. Has anyone unlocked a hero from tmobile/orange to other networks?

Is it possible to upgrade firmware from 1.5 to 1.6?

Edit: Just realised after a quick google HTC Hero wont be getting 1.6 only 2.0.

Nvm lol

Am I the only one that hasnt needed TaskKiller since upgrading to the latest ROM? I do make sure I close apps after I finished using them rather than just bang the Home button.

Whats the best taskkiler app to use? I'm using taskpanel at the moment, just wondering if anything was better than taskpanel? Seen a lot of people using Advance Task Killer Free wondering if I should change, also the icon for Advance Task Killer Free is cool :)

Ive used Taskiller since I got the phone a month ago and decided to try advanced task killer free a few days ago and i prefer it by a long way.

Do Orange brand this phone in anyway? I have an N82 with them and it has this really annoying thing on the home screen!

Mine isn't other than when you turn it on it says orange (logo) and when you go to set up an email account it has the orange settings in there already.

Thats alright I can deal with the small logo, its just on the N82 I think it was orange who put this little menu style thing on the home screen which I have never used and it bugs me being there.

Well why don't you switch back to the Nokia theme then? I had an N82 for 2 years and it had the same orange software installed, but you just switch it back to the Nokia one. No hacking or modding needed!

You should find the option in: Menu/Settings/Display/Standby.

Possibly a random question, but is the Hero an easy phone to reset back to factory defaults?

One of the girls in our office building has a brand-new SIM-free Hero on her desk for one of her customers, but they are on holiday for a fortnight so I've asked if I can borrow it for a day or two to see how it works and she's agreed as long as there's no trace of me using it. There's no problem with opening the box as the customer will only get the handset and accessories but I'd don't even want to risk using it if I could potentially muck things up.

What would I need to do to ensure all trace of me and my SIM was removed from the phone and it was put back to 'as new' condition?
