Any New Star Trek Series......

They'll make another big hit film first, then the networks (I dont know which one ran star trek in the states) will pick up on the idea that people want to watch it again and it'll be back in some form (the next next generation?). Probably around 2014

The franchise needs a rest. More and more people will begin to miss it and we'll get another instalment.

This.

Star Trek was on the air constantly for 18 years running starting with "The Next Generation" in 1987 and ending with Enterprise's cancellation in 2005.

Is it any wonder the franchise became worn out? I remember a time when Star Trek was never off the tv, when both "The Next Generation" and "Deep Space Nine" were running and then "Voyager" came along to fill the gap left by "The Next Generation" in 1994. By the end of "Voyager" the writers had fallen into the trap of making the heroes all powerful to the point where they could take on the Borg and not even bat an eye lid making any show past this point very difficult to make believable, possibly one of the reasons the decision was made to produce a prequel. It also resulted in a very boring show for the last season of Voyager.

Unfortunately, as I said in the other Star Trek thread, I fear that there will be a remake of "The Original Series" with words such as 'Gritty' and 'Realistic' being bandied about as it's description. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a show set in the 2260s but I would hate to see another show set on the NCC-1701.

I'd like to see a sister series set before 'TOS'. Basically telling the story of the birth of the Federation and warp technology/starships etc :)

I'm not a die hard fan so some of them who are would probably throw this idea out the window :p

Ohh, that looked crap :D

The first season was okay, the second was dire but three and four were actually quite good, nothing brilliant but watchable.

You didnt like the new ST movie?????

It was a good enough action flick but a poor Star Trek film (even if it was better than some of the proper Star Trek films) in my opinion.

Ohh, that looked crap :D

And everytime I see Scott Bakula I expect to see his mate stood behind him with a tricorder or whatever you call it :p

The pilot episode is probably one of my favourite ST episodes of all time, it's fantastic to watch considering human's are only just beginning to meet alien races such as Vulcans and Klingons. As already mentioned the last 2 seasons are quite good (well I thought so) as there's quite a prominent story arc centered around the destruction of earth.

I'll give Enterprise a go.

I watch one of the early episodes when I was at someones house who had Sky so I couldn't really get into it. That's why I've always thought of it being balls.

It sounds exactly what i'd be interested in :p

Also give up on enterprise, might give the last 2 seasons ago

I think i would watch a new ST show, but i think it would be best to wait abit longer till we have one
