Well there's discomfort and there's OW I'M GONNA DIE!No, not at all. It is alleged to be a sense of discomfort rather than what we relate to as pain - as in, I feel discomforted when my hair gets wet in the rain, thus I try to avoid it (a silly example, but you get the idea).
Again, quantifying pain in fish is really an incredibly moot point. We should be aiming to avoid discomfort in the animals we kill for food within all reason.
I realise we're /different/ to fish but I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have a scale of pain levels much like we do?

What is the point in trying to keep it alive for when you eat it? Is there a benefit or a better taste?
