PS3 FW 3.10 is up ladies and gents !

Lost iplayer too, tried resetting numerous times and changing accounts

I changed to the OcUK dummy account (the one people used for GOW3 demo). You don't need to sign in online to it, just change to that offline profile, and you will see that has iPlayer (hopefully) and then switch back to your own one.

Whats the account info for that? Could you email me it or point me in right direction if its hush

Before you try that, try just creating brand new user form the left hand XMB and see if that gives you iPlayer (on the new account, and if it does switch back to your normal account).

Edit: The OcUK dummy account belongs to "thecremeegg" so it is his to send out details, but, all you would need to do yourself is create a new local account and if you have no iPlayer then sign up to PSN on that account with a UK set of details and that should enable iPlayer on that account, and then switch back (it will be quicker to sign up your own single use account than wait for thecremeegg to e-mail you). btw I have no way of testing this as my iPlayer is fixed now, but I have a high suspicion it will work.

I've cancelled mine. Did 15% in close to 45 mins (on 10mb VM cable). Never experienced a slow download on the PS3 before. Will leave it till bedtime and let it auto-shutdown. Thursday night the missus is out and that = Fifa/CoD time!

Downloaded and installed in 10mins woo! I didn't go via the PS3 though as my brother ran it for 45mins and downloaded 13%. If you have a PC or laptop download the update from the Sony site and use a USB stick to install the update. It downloaded in a few mins (its 159mb) and installed in about 5 minutes :)

http://uk.playstation.com/ps3/support/system-software/detail/item245723/Update-features-(ver-3-10)/

1. Go to bottom of page and tick to agree then download the file.
2. Create a folder on the USB drive called "PS3". Use capital letters.
3. Then create a folder in that folder called "UPDATE".
4. Put the "PS3UPDAT.PUP" in the UPDATE folder. Folder path should be USB\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP
5. Put the USB in the PS3 and make sure it can be seen. Go to the "Music" tab or something and see if it shows "USB Device" as an option then you know the PS3 has detected the USB stick.
6. Go to the "Settings" tab, scroll to the top and select "System update" and rather than choose "Update from the internet" choose "Update from USB" and voila. Leave it to do its thing and reboot a couple of times and job done!

Now off to play MW2 \o/

Looks like this new firmware has error reporting now too. For some reason my PS3 didn't shut down correctly just now (three beeps, then turned off), turned it back on and it asked me to report the problem to Sony.

Still no support for streaming internet radio? I don't want to run PSM or tversity, I want to be able to shutdown the pc and have music stream over my PS3. Useless pos devs.

cool got the facebook thing working :)

put the free turkey head thing for little big planet into basket and went thru checkout and it posted it on my facebook :D

Go to Network, Account Management, and then the Facebook option. It'll ask you to add your username and password.

I've typed that in but still nothing has changed - don't you get a facebook icon or anything on the XMB?

oh LOL- please tell me this isn't all Sony have managed to cobble together..... the Xbox version is actually worthwhile, this is pap.

Think the only thing that I found useful, was the new picture browser, otherwise, there’s not exactly anything else worth having imo, and the download was taking so long (2 hours for 50%) that I ended up downloading the update on my PC (4 minutes) and loading it via USB stick!

Had a good chuckle at the prices of movies – what a joke, they’re the same price as the high street, more in some cases, why oh why is downloadable content like this still so expensive, you’d think that the savings made by providing it in this manner (i.e. no physical product to manufacture and distribute) would be passed on to us!
