ati 2600xt beats 5870 on windows 7 rating.

A mate's ati 2600xt got 6.3 on the gaming graphics score.
My 5870 got 6.0

What is wrong with this thing!!!!

What did others get with this rating on their 5870 ?

do not take a blind bit of notice of the windows ratings.

my 5850 gets 7.8 on both graphics.

try re-run it or uninstall the drivers then reinstall them.

Run 3dmark, make sure the drivers are fine and re run the WEI. Mine was low until did this.

5870 should be much higher then that, at least 7.5 minimum.

my 4850 gets a 7.3.... I would hope a 5870 would get a bit more than that

Lets be honest if your going to judge hardware based on windows index your in for more headaches then anyone person deserves it was, is and probably always will be a complete joke of a way to judge system performance.

It's for people who think a GeFarce FX 5900 Ultra is faster than an HD 5870 because it's a higher number.

My 5850 used to get 6.0 and my ssd used to get 5.9. I since did a full reinstall and now get 7.8 for the card and 7.0 for the ssd. I would take no notice of it if I we're you.
...and now my card is back to 6.0 with these 9.12 beta drivers

I'd swap cards with your friend. Seriously, the Windows score means more than any benchmark or real world results.

I'm not, i was just fascinated to know why that happens. I do know btw that the 5870 is Miles ahead of the 2600xt!!

I have found out why now anyway.

The card is not clocking up from idle. I have windows 7 x64 so ati tool will not allow overclocking because of didgitally signed drivers etc.

How can i make it clock up?

it automaticly clock up when u play a game, also when u run WEI,

u can check in CCC or gpu-z

I would have thought that a 5870 should get 7.9 - mine can only get 7.8 and it's overclocked.

7.8 is right for a 5870 .
a 5850 at stock gets 7.7 .
