Well not exactly for me, but for the kids.. But even so, no doubt i'll be having a little play with it...

Anyway.. Got it with the New Super Mario and a couple of Wii remotes..

Outside of Mario Kart, what else is good family fun? Perhaps a gun game or fishing game? Kids will love that kind of thing..

Nothing too complicated. My kids are only 3 & 4..
 
Mario galaxy is the best game on the system, apart from that you will get plenety of play time out of mario kart.
 
Mario Kart is a great game and one you can play together so that would be my top recommendation. Takes a while for the kids to get the hang but mine managed at 4. Wii Sports resort maybe? My wee boy likes the bowling and the slicing n dicing games (just fruit n stuff lol)
 
Lego games are cool

The difficulty level alters depending how good you're doing, so if there are young kids playing, they won't hate it

When you die, you just re spawn instantly, you have to work together too, great fun :)
