Whilst it's still some time off, I'm looking to the future and wondering what may be a replacement to the s2k.

Ideally I'd be looking for something with at the very least comparable performance, ideally notably better (and by performance I'm not just on about a 0-100 dash, but also through corners)

I think I would prefer a 2+2 just in case, but the back 2 seats don't need to be able to house adults for hundreds of miles in comfort whilst they sip quality bourbon from a crystal glass which rests in a walnut holder.

Make? I'm not at all fussed, but I want it to feel special.

Personally at the current moment I'd be saying a 996 c2 with a decent spec list, when it comes to change time I'd imagine a 997 c2 would be in budget... However are there any cars I'm overlooking ?

I'd wait until you are ready to replace. Then ask the question. The market and indeed the cars available for your budget may have changed quite dramatically in that period....

Working on 3 or 4 years time then a Nissan GTR or a V8 m3 may have depreciated enough to be just about in budget.

Get yourself a 6 year old BMW like Fox, then you will be the man.

You might even get a civilised answer on this forum too.

On a serious note, go for a Porsche, you will love them.

Regardless of when you are buying or what the final budget is, get the best 911 that you can afford.
