Hi,

I'm going to a middle-eastern themed party soon. I thought a thobe, agal and keffiyeh would do the trick, but I don't really know anything about this sort of attire. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for and where I should go to buy this? Under £25 if possible :)

Thanks

Where about's do you live? I am sure there will be a store near you

All you really need is a 'kameez' or 'khameez' (the top half), and wear whatever bottoms you like

If you want to go all out stereotypical the headscarf is called a ' keffiyeh' or sometimes 'Shemagh'

It's kind of tricky to put it on arab style without the bit that ties around the top but you could wear it pashtan style

Any bandana/decorated tea towel will do really if it is big enough although you might get laughed at by real arabs if you wear the latter :p

I am not sure you want to go out and actually buy this stuff as some of the better ones are a bit pricey :p

Try something more inventive? There's gotta be a clever take on 'middle eastern'.

I did consider USMC desert camo ;), but the host is genuinely rather fond of middle-eastern culture, so I thought that might be a tad insensitive.
