Men Knitting, Yay or Nay?

Maybe he's utterly and completely socially unaware.

Reminds me of this guy I saw one time, walking through the city center (bold street) with a huge boombox on his shoulder blasting "my heart will live on".

I wish I had a camera on me at the time!

I would have thought it was a joke, but the guy had a really odd expression on his face which made me think he felt it was perfectly normal.

Ahahahahahahahah that is amazing!

It better be some sort of intricate plan to get laid.

I don't see the problem. If he enjoys knitting, then he enjoys it. His not interfering with anyone.

Why people have to be so judgemental of others, I do not know.

Playing with a toy like a child or knitting like an old woman, either way you have lost.

I'd laugh/ double take if I saw him but fair enough if he enjoys it.

Playing games is quite an adult pass time. I think the average "gamer" is in their 20s.

You can still be a MAN and knit.

Just have to be something especially MANLY like a solo arctic explorer (or yes, Viking raider). Being over 6" and built like a bear are also good plus points.

A skinny student on a train doesn't really pull off the MANLY way to knit.

:D

You seriously need to ask? It's totally not socially acceptable for a man to Knit, everyone knows it's for your Nan to do :D

I suppose it's a bit odd seeing it in public but it's not hugely girly really when you think of it. All he's doing is moving some metal sticks about!

I'm not being judgemental as such, the guy knitting doesn't personally bother me, I do know that it's unusual though.

I think that's what's going through most people's heads when they're reading this thread, it just looks odd.

Same as that guy I saw blasting Celene Dione through the middle of Liverpool City center.
