Battlefield 2: Complete Collection £3.75 on EA Store

Was £7 in the Steam sale the other day and it's £5 on the EA Store. You have to use their downloader but come on it's not like you will be downloading it every week. I keep a backup of the install files anyway.

I wouldn't even pay 10p for BF2 + EA Downloader, yet I'd pay £20+ for it on Steam.

I don't get what's so wrong about it. You have to install it to download the game. But after that you can uninstall it. It is pointless and they might as well just let you download it from your browser but it's not something that effects gameplay.

EA downloader was totally useless for me. I highly recommend not buying it this way!

That's not true if my 2142 is anything to go by. I have to use the EA Downloader to open the game. When I uninstall it, I can't play the game.

Yeah just tried to uninstall it and got a message telling me

As long as you're logged into the downloader, you can start the game from a shortcut iirc. Did this with BF2142 to get widescreen support before I installed the patch.

Wanted to play BF2 but couldn't find my key anywhere... and then saw this on HUKD. Perfect! Although will agree with the rest of the people, EA Download Manager is appauling. It's horrible!

I've just bought Dragon Age through EA and their downloader was fine. In fact due to upgrading both my computers to Windows 7 I've downloaded the game three times and it's been no trouble at all.

What is your problem with it?

In the interest of balance though Ive used EA downloader for four or five games and have zero complaints about the service. Has really been excellent for me

EA downloader rubbish, i brought it through them but just couldnt get it to work, brought it again on steam and hey presto installed without an issue

Its only available for downloading for a limited time and you have to pay to extend it. Thats my problem with it.

yer lost my cd key for my mass effect from a while back, the game appears on my account but the keys are no were not be seen.
I have them backed up somewere....

Although for Mirror's edge, Mass effect and Burnout, i've never been required to install the EA download manager..
