Well it isn't, so don't be so ridiculous. Regardless of how good you think it wasn't, the ST200 was Fords Accord Type-R rival in the same way the Vectra GSi 2.6 was Vauxhalls rival.

They were all the high end Sports models in the SAME class and they all developed circa 200bhp and they all cost about the same new.

What are you going to do next, elevate the Honda on a podium and say it was a 330i Sport rival, lol

Honda Accord Type-R, Ford Mondeo ST200, Vauxhall Vectra GSi. That was the class.

There is actually a review of all 3 in a group test, can't remember what won probably the Accord, but that in itself supports the point that.. they were all each others rivals.

Only a fool would pretend the Accord Type-R wasn't in the same class as the other two.

They are all front wheel drive, 200bhp sports variants of the large saloon/hatchback market sector.

I'm not going to dispute that the Accord may be the better car out of the three I mentioned, I was merely saying it was in the same class. Although an ST200 is no more a rep car than an Accord Type-R. And you've not seen reps in any of them since about 2003.

But compared to an M3? How? 'As we can see both these cars have... 4 wheels'

Hmmm he has a point, a 4 door Honda Accord with 197bhp versus a 2 door BMW M3 with 321bhp. It would be a close run thing. Very close.

No wonder the Honda Accord gives the BMW M3 such a run for its money.

Sorry whats the point actually its like banging my head against a wall , I offered you to come to the A272 meet fox and actually let you drive my car to shut you up for once and for all compaireing it to a civic type r or mondeo and such like but you where to tired

why are you comparing it to the E36 M3?
the E46 had 343bhp

There's a version which has "Power: 220 bhp (220 PS,162 kW) @ 8000 rpm" according to wikipedia.

We're nearly close to being just 100bhp down on power.
