Yeah, I would like to know how to get the interior view for the bench.. :confused:

who plays driving games in exterior :| My bench always uses interior, I guessed it was because that's what I'm using ingame?

i use interior in game too but the bench swaps to exterior.
hmm maybe i'll see what i get interior too later

strange, never swapped for me, I'll have to give it another look later. maybe it does it with dx11 so the water effects are more noticable

and i dont think it uses 8AA unless you set it at 8AA then back out of the menu then go back in to run the benchmark, i know it does this with v sync setting, must be a bug in the game

Yeah benchmark uses whatever view you used last in game, my results below @1680x1050.

aye it defaults to what u use in game but heres my bench for exterior view

1920 x 1080 8xaa ultra

av 56.9

min 49.9 ? dont know how this has went up!

trouble is with this benchmark is its not a set run, cars can crash and stuff , i ran it once where my car hit a car, it ended up on the bonnet of my car for about 5 seconds or more untill it fell off at a corner lol

I know it sounds a daft question but where do you change what directx version you want to run the game in? There doesn't seem to be anything in the options menu's.

I think you can modify the settings file manually to force it, not entirely sure where it is, but it is probably in my docs/my games sort of area

Thanks Disjunto, I will look it up because i'm sure I could run with more AA and high settings if it was running in dx9 instead.

Except that in dx9 you can't run with Ultra settings as they are for dx11 only.

I sussed it out, goto Documents/My Games/Dirt 2/Hardware Settings...Hardware_settings_config and change the line that says "Forcedx9=False" to "True". I noticed a HUGE boost in performance (around 30fps), but as Greebo says you can't max it out and it doesn't look as nice.

yes you can, just post processing is on medium... unless there's a few more ultra settings than I get

Am well impressed with these Phenom II X3's, awesome performance, and would clock much much higher on a better board. Also equally impressed with the 5770, i've noticed upto 2.5 the FSP over my old 4850 in new games.

sig in rig,
all settings at Ultra (or High if no Ultra option),
DX11, VSync Off, 1920x1200
Min: 38, Average 44-45.
I did several runs, at 4xAA and 8xAA, and the difference was marginal - no more than 1fps.
Perfectly playable.
Edit: all stock settings, no OC.

I have a sapphire 5850, and I'd like to try overclocking it beyond the catalyst limit without flashing the bios
