rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

this is the most retarded thing i have seen in a while.

ok so your gonna get one up on the 'man' erm... no

the x factor single is still gonna sell nearly as many singles as the year before if not more and be number 1 or 2. If you guys actually get number 1 the x-factor will no doubt be number 2.

Yeah we will show Sony by nearly doubling their profit from singles this time of the year.......

Now you have gave the x-factor major publicity and its fans will be buying loads of copies as well.

Im sure Sony will be in a rage against the x-factor and cancel it for doubling it single sales........

lol showing an opinion doesnt mean i have lost my calm. This will just go down as another cringe worthy event in British history and forgotten.

Until some dole monger following the 'black flag' tries to do something like it again

Buy a homeless person a hot drink, and do something that will help an individual and not a make a rich corporation richer.

I seriously doubt this will go down as a major event in British history.

You miss the point, it's not about peoples profits or getting one up on anyone. it's about getting a good song to number 1 rather than a rubbishy clone reality tv show. So all your points are well, well of the mark.

ah ok, so we gonna do this every year then?

next year the better pick a better song that one sucks balls, its already over played in every 'rock' bar now its gonna be all over the radio, oh noes !!!

Probably not and good is matter of opinion. people who like rage will buy this, people who like x-factor will buy that. Getting some proper music on radio is great.

People who buy Rage are not the people buying this though, sheep with £1.50 spare, following a Facebook group are. Big difference. To a large extent the song picked would just have to be any semi controversial song and people on the internet and Facebook (who love a good controversy) would have bought it.

On the one hand we have average Joe on the street buying a song that Simon Cowell "told" them to buy, on the other hand we have sheep on a Facebook group buying what the group founder "told" them to buy. I don't see the difference, like you say, "good" is subjective.

To dmpoole, the song as far as I know is typical amongst the RATM theme of saying what they think about America. Their views are very politically bias and their name is encapsulates what they are doing with their music.

This song specifically, and I could be wrong, is referring to the KKK and more specifically racially fueled attacks by police on young black/hispanic/non-white folks. Essentially saying how people in power are abusers/racist and are getting away with it. "Some of those who work forces, are the same that burn crosses, etc".

It's effectively an anti-white supremacy / anti-KKK / anti-racist corruption in public office anthem.

Just figured I'd answer seeing as nobody else did.

Seems that way huh?

Now you have quoted Dmpoole and told him something where he asked a question he will probably come back with the "I'm 50+ years old, know music more than you, seen more gigs than you, etc" same old approach.

As he did when I posted the above :p

The difference is the reason why they're buying it. The X-Factor purchasers are buying it because they enjoyed watching the X-Factor and want to support the artist. The Rage purchasers are buying it because they dislike Simon Cowell/the X-Factor/Reality TV in general and want to make a point.
