I fancy getting BladeRunner on Blu Ray, is the US multi disc version worth the premium over the stadnard uk 'final cut' version?

There's almost £20 price difference so not sure if the extra is worth it :)

I got the 5 disc one for £18 or so, can't remember where though as it was ages ago... I've only ever watched the final cut disc, and tbh, I think that's the only one I'll ever watch...

If I could go back in time I would buy the US. It comes with the original directors cut which is my favourite, I think it also comes with a few other cuts aswell. At the end of the day its your choice, and down to you which cut you like yourself.:)

IIRC you can get the final cut/full edition from amazon for about £18 not including delivery, which should be all regions (you may want to check as there is a site that lists what blu-rays are all region)

The general rule is, that if it's not primarily selling stuff ocuk do, the name in relation to other items OCUK don't do is ok (so amazon are ok in relation to books/cd's/dvd's/blu-rays, cookers, toasters, calenders, dishwashers etc).

Go for the 5 disk edition.
Worth it for all the different versions.

It's around £18 from amazon.com, but is available in the UK for £21 iirc.

Hmm it's £25 from co.uk, the standard version is £7.98.

I'm not sure if I'll watch the other version, but could be nice to have.

Think I'll see if there's anything else I'd want as well and if so might go for the cheaper one, but if nothing else tickles my fancy I'll stick with it :)

Having all the versions of Blade runner on bluray is just a must have for me :)

Well seeing as I have a gift cert for it I may as well. Although annoyingly can't use the cert on .com and it's £5 more on co.uk.

Aw well, buy it on .com to treat myself then spend the voucher on co.uk and the person who gave it to me to buy the film will be the none the wiser. Unless they read this. Crap.

At the moment the Matrix Triology on blu-ray is going for £17 which I think is a damn good bargin.

I might consider buying that special edition blu-ray from amazon, now to find someone who has a blu ray player who could have my final cut as a xmas present!

See I've got the Matrix set on DVD and tbh as muchas I'd like to get it I reckon it'd be better to try something else :)

Just checked on amazon, you can only buy the collectors blu-ray steel case from other sellers on the website. All the other boxsets are DVD.

Yup plus it's more than buying it in the US. And I don't want the big case thingy, just the one that looks like a normal, albeit slightly thicker looking, blu ray case.

Yeah I know I hate it when they do the over the top massive case things. Remember if you go the import option then you may need to pay customs. I bought the Berserk DVD boxset a couple weeks back and it cost me £12 for being held at customs! Even though its easily samll enough to go through the letter box.

apparently the film print was digitised/scanned at about double 1080 resolution, it'll be plenty good enough :)

Remember proper film is actually good quality :p

35mm negative was scanned at 4k (4096x3072)
Special effects elements were 65mm negative and scanned at 8k (8192x6144)

They put a serious amount of effort and money into getting the best possible results for bluray. Considering most of the original elements were scheduled for destruction - but for some reason, never were.

Yup it's supposed to be an excellent transfer.

Well I went for the least hassle option and went for the uk version for now, if it peaks my interest I can always go grab the US one another time (when I'm out there) :)

Also frees up a few quid for something else, so any recommendations for something say up to £15 that'll be similarly visually stunning or just a good film as this?
