And yet they probably have hundreds of people working below them getting paid a pittance. Those at the top deserve the millions they get simply because of how hard it is to get there.
Again, this is wrong. There are many CGI artists per film yet only one director and a handful of stars. Therefore its fine that they get disproportionately paid because they have a disproportionate amount of pressure of their shoulders. Its hardly a suprise that in-demand actors are paid loads because a lot of the time, the film's success depends on them so no-one's making any money if Tom Cruise or whoever doesn't sign up.
And it's easy to get into the pixar animation team, or join infinity ward's game development squad? I think not, lol.
A career in CGI or game development is a low-paid and ultimately extremely hard career to get into. You have to have real, raw talent AND massive technical application. You are born a handsome good actor or a good looking singer. This doesn't deserve you millions.
