It's simply the multiplication affect though, store all those formats and you have around 900MB, store 320 mp3 and you have 150MB. So no matter how much storage it actually takes, it takes 6 times as much as needed to serve 95% of customers perfectly adequately. As a business, why would you voluntary have that overhead? Why buy 6 times more storage than you need?

The only way is if offering it pays for itself, and it's such a small number of users prepared to pay it so the premium over mp3 will be relatively large.

Or you just offer 320MP3, OGG, FLAC and nothing else

So tell me how that makes a difference. I'd actually have far more respect for you if you said you did it because you disapproved of profiteering and exploitative record companies. That's a (debatable) valid complaint whereas you're freely admitting you don't fancy spending your money on music but you still want it and you can get it for free illegally so you will.

Well I can't afford to pay for music, pure and simple, if it wasn't so damn expensive I would. But record companies are *********, as you pointed out.

What are the rules on posting about torrent sites on this here forum? I reeeaaalllyyy need a refferal code for a certain site but don't wanna go getting myself suspended...

True, perhaps.
Though, what themes are missing of the good ones?

The Rock's Hollywood heel theme
Test's last one (an earlier version was on the Volume 4 CD)
Jamie Noble
An unedited Randy Orton (unlike the version on the Voices CD)
Goldberg's WWE theme
Snitsky's "It Wasn't My Fault"
Rhyno
Spike Dudley....

The list goes on :p

What the **** has that got to do with his question? :)

 Boat? Ship? Lamp? Fork?

I'll try to guess what you mean.

Torrents aren't illegal, they're also not against any rules, using them isn't illegal either, nor is using torrent sites or discussing them.

Discussing how to get copyrighted material may be, but it's like saying discussing knives is against the rules, rather than asking "what type of knife is best for killing? I've got some stuff I want to do, my neighbour's really been annoying me lately."

How is it like that?

Over 63% breach copyright laws. Sounds about right and certainly more realistic than a number of threads on the subject where everyone vehemently denies the obvious.

If they lowered the prices to a reasonable level, I'm sure the result would be completely different.

Thanks guys, sorry for taking the topic on a bit of a tangent, but back to the topic at hand.

I download things and I'm not ashamed to admit that, I tend to download things, and if I like them, I WILL buy them. I'm aware that people will argue that that isn't a legitimate argument for doing it, but I'm not too bothered, everyone has reasons for downloading it, mine is logical, not morally correct.

How is it like that?

Because knives aren't illegal, but using them for certain purposes is.

Same as torrents, torrents aren't illegal, but using them for specific purposes is.

Is it really that hard to understand?

Fast cars aren't illegal, using them to break the speed limit is.

The Rock's Hollywood heel theme

An unedited Randy Orton (unlike the version on the Voices CD)
Goldberg's WWE theme

You mean that Rock one?
Don't think Goldberg's WWE tune (which was a remix of his WCW tune afaik) has ever been released on any disk :(
And, what is the original unedited Voices?

No, but your last post was kind of a train wreck (unless I'm being incredibly stupid tonight). What does Boat? Ship? Lamp? Fork? mean?

Train wrecks are usually pretty gory and messy aren't they?

It was is response to Strife trying to demonstrate the fact that he's all grown up now by using naughty swearies.

Blind test I bet you can't. I certainly can't.

Is 4 passes enough?

(I've already admitted that I can't hear the difference between 24bit and 16. Can't be bothered to differ the track down.)

I converted the track to V0 with Foobar.

How cheap do you want it many services like spotify are free.
Then many mp3 albumns are around £3-4 Or services liek Sky songs that is £7.99 for unlimited streaming and you get to keep 15 songs a month DRM free. thats just 53p a song.

Love film has several thousand films to stream free as part of your subscription and more to stream at around £1.50-3.50 or 3,99-15.99 a month for varying numbers of rentals.

I was going to read all 6 pages of this thread but then I thought - why bother?
It will just be filled with the usual thieves self-justifying their actions.

Then there will be something said about stealing to "test" and then buying - which I believe in as much as I do Santa Clause.

Finally there will be some argument on cost - not taking at all into consideration the cost to actually develop the product in the first place and the need to actually make a profit etc.

I don't thieve.
If I want music I buy it.
If I want films I buy them.
If I want software I buy it.

The world doesn't owe me a living, I'm not entitled to things just because other people have them.
I have morals and one of these morals was taught to me by my parents - don't steal - so I don't.

Go away stoofa. I would go as far as to say that most people don't value you any of your "input" on such matters. It's not constructive, you just point the finger while crying "thief" "stealing" "Piracy isn't piracy, it's theft!"

Piracy isn't theft, it's piracy, the sooner you learn this, the better.

The other problem is, there was several versions of his Hollywood theme, and by uneditied I mean the version Orton uses in real life, the start is different, guitar isn't as heavy and the keys of the piano throughout are muffled if not removed. Why can't they just releae it as we hear it? Beyond me.
