So while driving home today I noticed a Focus RS in my local ford garage, being a bit ****ed at having to drive at 20mph in my S2000 for the last few days I decided to go in and grab a test drive, My god what an awesome machine, didn't feel as fast as I had expected but it reminded me how much I miss that turbo whistle.

Am I crazy to be considering a part exchange? 24k seems a ridiculous amount for a focus, maybe after a sleep ill see sense in it, stupid winter months ruining my S2000 enjoyment!

An S2000 is a classy (Edit - in comparison to the RS) , rwd, convertable.

An RS is a chavvy, fwd, 25k focus, where chavs in their corsas will follow you around baiting you to race them.

+1 save your money getting a new car and just make your s2k more exciting

- supercharger
- coil overs
- fatter tyres

however if u want to drive fast in the wet 4WD is the answer :D

I know a few people who have run these and they all seem to like them, if you take what they are onboard. The image is a bit bling (not that this should matter) and they are nippy if not rapid. They do torque steer, which is no surprise and they are plasticy (but so is an S2000) and not great in the wet (I am told) but other than that pretty good fun and not bad on track either I believe. Good little car but not as special as the pre-release hype may have lead people to believe...from what I can tell.

If I had to buy an RS, it would be the previous one, in blue. The New RS does just scream chav.

But £25k buys you so much more than a stupid fast 4 door family car with a Halfords catalogue thrown at it.

It was definatly a moment of weakness, I mean I absolutely love my S2000 (for 8 months a year!). It just caught my eye, white one with every extra that was available.

I do love my hot hatchs though! No doubt my misses will give me an earfull if I try to buy it anyway, not sure its worth that!

And to the person who asked why I have to drive at 20mph, maybe because its thick snow and ice around here on the roads? I cant even get out of my drive at the moment!

There are certain people who cant differentiate between the cars that inspire the chavs and the chav cars themselves.

A (Female, obviously) friend didn't get it at all - whenever she saw Evos, Scoobies etc she'd always call them chavvy cars because they had spoilers and big wheels/exhausts. I tried explaining that they're "necessary" on cars like that and the chavs copy those things on their standard hatches, but it just went way over her head.

Same thing here - a loud Focus with bog alloys and a body kit - we've all seen plenty chavs driving those so the RS must be chavvy too
