***Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread***

Guys can you please tone the excitement down a tad it's killing me! ;) 5 days and counting till I get home where the game awaits unopened.

Come on! I've had to make do with YouTube vids.....
 
I failed hard today, my mouse decided to spaz out constantly, I think it's down to my mousemat getting too dirty, think I need to get 1 that isn't glass >:(

Well i was using a mouse mat that was infact, my old maths homework book. Used it for a couple of years, no problems with it :D

Haha yeah, it's normally good, but if it gets dirty it keeps skipping across the screen, I've cleaned it now and it seems to be good. Pain in the ass when it happens half way through a game though.
 
Razer cloth mats are awesome. Works perfectly no matter how dirty it is and doubles as an enormous coaster. Plus it feels nice and warm, compared to cold glass.
 
Razer is like my fave brand, everything I own basically is Razer, except the mat :D I think I'll be getting a new mat in a few days.
 
Well I ('Steve (OcUK')) tried to play with you guys today but was shoo'd away due to some nonsense about 'Evil' and a router :(

Is there any particular technique to getting on the server as they're either empty or completely full whenever I look :/

Add all the regulars to your friends list and at least a game or two normally get started in the evenings, and people should invite you in to a lobby, then from there join a game. You won't get much luck joining into a server once a game starts because Rage Quits are very rare in OcUK games.

I recommend adding:

Me (Hungry Hungry Hippos)
Knubj3
Tefal
Link to Insanity
Kearney
Midnight (though he is away at the moment)
Steve!
Pookie Bear
Defrag

These are the people I mostly play with/start games with, there are others as well but start here and you can quickly add people into your friends list.
 
Downloaded the L4D1 maps but No Mercy isn't working for me.

Also had to restore the original Pak01_dir file as the other one was giving me random crashes.

This is good advice if you want to get into an OCUK game.

I would also suggest that if you see one of the regulars go into L4D2, send them a quick message asking if they've got a game going and if there's space. I often get messages like that, and more often than not, there's a space or two available.

There's a simple 'rule' on OcUK, if you drop unexpectedly and plan to return (internet dropped, pc crashed etc) we will hold your spot and wait for you to return. As such, it is normally easier to ask before joining a game in progress if the spot is available.

Unfortunately for you, Evilsod was having ping issues and went to restart his router during map change, you then joined and we asked you to leave.. which you did with no fuss :)

Adding the people Eulogy mentioned will be a good start, they often send out invites to lobbies with good people in, which makes for some good close games :D

Best way to get into ocuk games is to be in the lbby so add people and either start your own or hop in when you see people making one. :)
