rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

Why do people keep saying crap like that ^ It doesnt even mean anything. Joe's song Climb is just as "real" as rage's Killing in the name of. Also joe is just as "real" a singer as the bloke from rage is.

That karaoke singer from X-Factor didn't write The Climb. It's a cover. The problem some people have is that this guy is just an average singer, that has an entire programme and record label backing him, despite having less talent than most aspiring musicians.

He doesn't actually contribute anything to music, he just sings other peoples work, and not that well.

He's probably watched the X-Factor for the last God knows how many years and decided he wants to be famous so he'll try and get on the show. That's the main driver for him, he expects fame and a number one, purely because he won a karaoke contest.

Well you know what? **** that.

He has a better voice than Robbie or any other memebers of the manuafctured dross take that simply are.

Srsly?

Angels is known to be a very hard song to sing well, and Robbie's voice is pretty damn unique, regardless of how many octaves he has or however else you want to measure it.

I couldn't pick Joe's voice out from any other male singers his age.

.

The Rolling stones and the beatles sung other peoples songs before perfroming their own.

Sinatra,Bassey, I could go on all sing other peoples songs

So your point is moot.

Free RATM tracks from Nokia music. Found this on FB.

To begin with, please don't make multiple accounts with this, there's no reason why all 850,000 can't create one account and the charts company cant hassle us about bulk buying!

If you don't have a Credit Card and want to support Rage for free, there's still a way and I have confirmed with the Charts Company that its eligible!*

1) Go to http://www.nokiamusic.co.uk/ Download and install the player on the main page insuring you select UK when it gives you the setup options!

2) Open the program and click "Join Now", Click "Join Nokia Music", fill out the details to create the account (No credit card details are needed)

4) Go to the main Store page and to the left you will see a box that says "Redeem Pin" Click on "Continue"

5) Enter ONE random of these codes, doesn't matter which one! Each one will give you £4 free credit and that's all you need to buy all 5 versions of the song, you can get up to £16 worth if you use all the codes, but please don't as Nokia may pull it if its abused!

7) Click the Orange down arrow next to each of the songs, then click the blue tick.

Congratulations you have just contributed [=

Thanks to the others who found this method! Now lets spread the word!

*I rang The Official UK Charts Company to see if tracks bought from Nokia Ovi Player are still eligible for the UK top 40 singles chart. They confirmed that they are as long as its bought with a UK account!

Whats not to get.

Robbie is an average singer. FACT.

Its hardly unique.

Could they play instruments? Did they get a programme dedicated to them for God knows how many weeks purely designed to promote them? Did they at least have the ability to write their own material?

I'd agrue my point isn't moot.

But if in a few years time this lad has learned to play an instrument and writes his own music then fair play, if it's any good I'll buy it. If it's still covers of Disney stuff then again, **** that.

want me to defend the musical genius of robbie and west life? because im not going to. He sang covers in a competition with others who did the same...and somehow expects a number 1 slot? WHY?

I don't think he does expect a NO1 slot.

The machine behind him does.

Thats the difference.

Name one Xfactor winner that won the contest, by singing a song he or she wrote.

Name one Singer who went through to the any round of consequence, on the back of a song he or she wrote.

... I thought as much

So any singer who doesn't write their own material is just a karaoke singer? If so that is an awful lot of respected singers...

I respect Robbie a lot more since he parted company with Guy Chambers, but the guy is still a tool.
