rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

Sad thing about all of this is the fact that a song with loads of blatant swearing in it is what was chosen for this campaign. Wheather you agree with the reason or not it is more of a sad reflection of people to put this type of song in the charts at xmas when this time of year should be about children. Why not pick a good old xmas song??

I must add i swear a lot so im not against swearing but when it's in this context where children will hear it (i know it's censored on the radio but downloads aren't) i disagree.

Although I agree to an extent, it is part of the whole point.. A christmassy song would not of made the same statement.

A generic kiddy xmas song wouldn't have the same message, this is a protest and without the stark contrast of styles it would never have gained weight and got noticed.

The last time I listened to the charts was in the late 90s, and wow things have changed. I will be glad if RATM get to number 1, because most of this stuff is not music. I feel slightly ill listening to all of this stuff.

The last refrain is the whole reason it was chosen, it's a response to being told what is going to be no.1 by the "Power". Well not this year.

you think children dont hear it in the playground , in films etc anyway?

Oh i know what you mean as i used to swear when i was little! But to be honest the more you can minimise it the better and this is a massive thing.

Maybe im being a little too sensitive lol!

now the Black Eyed Peas there is a band who have sold out bigger than ever.

From B.E.P. Empire back in the 90s where they take the pish out of sell out hip hop artists themselves are the biggest sell outs.

No, you are misinterpreting the rule. If I release a song and promote it, or promote an old song of mine to be sold on it's own merit, that is fine. However, the RATM song was not re-promoted by them, and was promoted purely to distort the chart and prevent X-Factor being No. 1. Surely the distinction is obvious?

X-Factor was created purely to distort the charts.

I hate Scott Mills, I have some rage i'd like to extract on him.

One thing I don't get, those 3 soldiers have released a song which will help soldiers. Why was this NOT picked? This Rage vs Xfactor has become a bit of a media circus and took all the attention away from that :s

Because they are even less accomplished singers than Cowells mewling hell spawn.
Soldiers know the pay, and know the job when they sign up, they dont need helping.
You want to improve the soldiers lot petition the government or the opposition to give them a pay rise and give adequate funding for hospitals dedicated to after injury care.

This Black Eyed Peas song is much weaker than their last singles. Still, pretty enjoyable. I like BEP as a pop group, although admittedly I don't know any material pre-Fergie :)
